Re: OFFICIAL - Buck O'Neil Bridge

Shoutout to Collison for reposting this article today. I was just wondering the status of these. Feel like they need to be a must now that saving the old bridge is dead. I also wonder if there is opportunity here to tie into the Greenline initiative? https://cityscenekc.com/regional-skate-park-artwo...

Don't think a private group can operate a commercial facility at a park
KC Parks needs to be open to changing this. Could both activate some dead parks + provide an additional revenue stream for an underfunded agency

Re: OFFICIAL - Pennway Point

Completely disagree. This is a cool activation of an area in an awkward spot. Helps make it a better experience to walk to Boulevard from Union Station and that last streetcar stop. As for the view, do you mean looking out west? During the day you’ll likely get a view of the Kansas River that few ge...

I'm asking for a subscription to the KCBJ for Xmas, so bear with me. Can someone shed some light on the article in the BJ about the Sporting exec that "built a kitty" in the sports betting world to lure the Chiefs over to the Kansas side, please and thank you? The details are really more ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

They had to know this was going to get a negative reaction at first which is likely the reason they did it. Issue press release, collect all the feedback and prepare for your campaign to sell it to the public. If there's one word I would use to describe Sherman, it is methodical. The approach they ...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

Definitely should be taller along Truman Rd, the views to the East will be pretty cool, but I wonder if the views to the NW will get obstructed by AT&T's doomsday fortress. Why doesn't At&T do one of their Building Billboards on that fortress? They do it in other cities and it isn't like th...

Nashville has agreed to begin assessing an over 100-acre tract of the Tennessee State University campus for a Major League Baseball stadium for a possible Nashville Stars team. The location (on the river next to TSU and near The Nations) would be an awesome spot. Still in the core but probably won't...

Some good details on this project’s incentives and status in the KCBJ today Hunt Midwest is underway on design work for the park's roadway and utility extensions. Once complete, those extensions could begin construction in 2023, according to Port KC materials. https://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

In the same city/state highway department that is replacing the historic and iconic Broadway bridge with a bare bones girder bridge. For the record, the FAA had more to do with the “bare-bones-ness of the new bridge than MoDOT Am I wrong? Too pessimistic? Hope so. I’m optimistic about this one.

Thanks for the pictures Chris!

Regarding 1500 St Louis Ave, what exactly is happening there? Looks like the property is owned by a Denver LLC going by “Zaibatsu”

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Personally, I could see the Royals working with Copaken to get the empty lots along 12th St developed. An East Village location will not feel too disconnected from Power and Light if this is the case. I think looking at something like Fig@7 here in Los Angeles is a great example of what Kansas City...
