Re: Arabia Steamboat Museum Looking for New Home
Full disclosure: I'm personal friends with the Hawleys, owners of the Arabia. To answer a previous question: Greg Hawley, one of the brothers who helped dig up the boat with their late father and their friends, was killed on I-70 several years ago by a reckless, speeding driver who crashed into Greg...

Re: 500 foot mixed use tower considered for downtown
Aesthetically, I like how this tower would stretch our skyline further to the west. The view from Liberty Memorial toward the central business district would be that much more spectacular on the horizon.
But, as Mahomes once said, "I'll see it when I believe it."

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
One of the buildings in the crosshairs of the Crossroads stadium concept is supposedly the oldest standing firehouse in KC: Firehouse No. 8. It's an airBnB now, but still a structure worth considering.

That AT&T building.... How do we lose so many gems over the years and keep THAT one.

The walls to Elmhurst—the Bird home (as in Emery Bird Thayer)—still exist around this development, and I hope they keep them intact. If you go to the west side of the block (Valentine and Pennsylvania), the "Elmhurst" name is still on the wall. https://valentineneighborhood.org/bird-mansion/

Re: Can KC Secede and join Kansas?
I get it, being a proud Missourian, it pains me to see what the rest of the state is doing and or turning into some crazy ass right wing "gods, gun, and morality" crew. As a DEM I do wish perhaps we try to get back to a more centric view. The pandering by the DEM's & GOP to the small,...

Re: Architects: Louis Curtiss Buildings
Just took some pics of the Curtiss studio and residence Downtown for The Loop and am wondering: What's the status of this building?
(Also, what is the best way to post images on KC Rag? TIA)
(Also, also, the pic will be in tomorrow's Loop email: www.kcdowntownloop.com)

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Just to add my two cents on StL, I have enjoyed the couple of times I've gone to the "new" Busch Stadium, and love the skyline vista from the seats. We pre-gamed in Soulard and took one of the many free shuttles from the cool bars there to the doorstep of the stadium. Next time, might try ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Washington SQ Park is the perfect location, but is there any chance at all that a stadium will fit there? Even a minor league sized stadium would have a really hard time fitting there. Looking at Google Maps, probably not. It's more narrow east and west than I realized. I bet they could expand fart...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
This is why Washington Square is STILL the best possible location. It's right on the streetcar and across the street from Crown Center, Union Station, Liberty Memorial and a 4 minute streetcar ride to P&L. And with the south loop park completed, there is no hindrance to walking from the loop. T...

Re: KCMO looked good on TV last night
I know this: Indy's skyline during the CFB championship game did not impress me like KC's did Sunday night.
