Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Someone called out a fantasy location at the site of the Home Depot/Costco in midtown. I thought that would of been a great location and catalyst. That's been my fantasy site for at least a decade. What about the Buick/USPS site to the NW? As bad as the design is for Midtown Marketplace, I'd think ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Since most of us will be waiting for a while for some actual news, I'm going to throw out a wild stadium site. I think you could squeeze a stadium in north of 43rd and Broadway Blvd. Westport would be the entertainment district. It's a couple blocks to the streetcar. Far enough from Plaza NIMBYs (ye...

Re: Restoration of City Control Over KCPD
Realistically, can anything be done to wrest control back, or is the GOP control too overpowering and they’ll be resistant to any small, local government argument because they’re without principles and just looking to kill own the libs? Related, how did St. Louis manage to do it not too long ago? S...

Re: Martini Corner near 31st/Gilham
Anyone heard any updates on this project? The existing property doesn't look like any sort of demolition has started. On the flip side, I see workers at the Aines Dairy project moving this along on schedule. I don't have any insider knowledge, but the ordinance vacating the alley and the stamped pl...

First post, long time lurker. Finally decided to create an account since I actually had just asked about this. I've been working with PW on a project in my neighborhood and have asked about year 2. I have been told that it is still planned for this year, and that the official plan should be coming ...

Could you paraphrase the article more? Who is the "they" working with Superior Linen? The article doesn't specifically mention Superior, but Chuck may have been referring to this quote from an Exact partner “If we’re successful in acquiring and partnering on a few of the other large-forma...

Looks like the Levy was pushed back again. Developer's site now reports April 2023 construction start and June 2024 completion. Maybe demolition could still start by January? https://www.garrisoncompanies.com/project/levy-at-martini-corner/ Anyone heard any updates on this project? The existing pro...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
I got to experience the traffic jam for arrivals last night. It was around midnight. Pretty frustrating, but what I saw reinforced my belief this is a behavior problem. Usually pick up at busy airport is pretty chaotic, and it was for maybe the first third of the pick up area. That's what I would e...

I'm surprised the garage is full. Maybe a lot of people wanting the full experience that will go back to economy eventually? Or more people flying in general? I saw some advice on social media to use the garage to pick people up rather than the cell phone lot too. https://twitter.com/Fly_KansasCity/...

There are some recent permits on 3110 Troost for partial demolition and new electrical, but I don't see any hints on what they're actually planning.

Maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't look like any permits have been filed since 2021. Hard to imagine any movement with current interest rates unless a new owner/investor comes in.
