Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
In the Crossroads just now and it's pretty quiet with the only real foot traffic really being people in town for the Big 12 wrestling tournament. You can't tell me that the city is in a position to refuse this, it's madness bordering on selfishness.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Reading KC tenants twitter they are actually attracting a lot of mocking and ridicule in the comments of their posts and not just those with Royals or Chiefs logos in their display photos, but normal people. Almost like they are useful idiots for the yes vote in some ways as much of their content co...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Had to laugh hard at the Chiefs mentioning the environment and efforts to reduce carbon emissions. You're literally adding parking to an area with no transit and 20k spaces already. This shit is doomed.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
In the event of a no vote I struggle to foresee a scenario where the much smaller Clay County votes through both a more expensive tax for it's residents but also where they feel like sloppy seconds because Jackson County said no.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Another major point for me from this is losing the teams to Kansas further pulls the epicenter of the metro away from Downtown and further south and west into the Kansas suburbs which I think is being heavily overlooked. The two major teams are one huge thing Jackson County and Missouri still holds ...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
As part of the CBA for me there absolutely would have to be provision for gameday shuttle service from Downtown at the very least and also potentially other parts of the metro.

Any idea what? Relocation of HQ/practice facility and surrounding development?Chris Stritzel wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 1:23 pm
I’m disappointed we aren’t getting a mixed-use component to this, but I’m never going to say “never” to that one. The Hunts have other things in mind from what I’ve been told on that front.

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
Can't even tell us the capacity. What did we say about transparency?
Even the average joe loses out when potentially the capacity is reduced to accommodate more suites or corporate expansion.

This entire vote is basically Royals only. I don't even know what you could market for the Chiefs...the new suites? Wow.

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
Looks shit. Parking and some tiny canopy over what is Kauffman.
I bet they capacity is slightly reduced too to make way for more club seats so the regular joe loses out.

Seen a semi viral tweet today from another prominent local activist against this whilst a couple of posts later lording it up in a suite at the St. Louis Blues game earlier. Got to love the dedication to the grift.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
The thing is, all the negativity is based off of lies. Sure, there’s some concern about the businesses that would need to relocate but most of the outrage is based on flat out false information. The biggest one being that tax payers are going to pay for the village portion and it’s a plot for John ...

Just woke up and checked the Facebook feed and friends of mine sharing outright ridiculous and bordering on aggressive anti stadium propaganda and these people I'd consider dyed in the wool Democrat voters. Just goes to show how embedded the suburban mentality is in this city and a near ignorance re...
