Re: New Chiefs Stadium
Even if all this does is motivate Missouri to come up with something strong on their side after the bare bones Arrowhead renovation proposal then I'd say this is a good thing.

Re: Buc-ee's Gas Station
Anyone else been? I was down here today and despite it being tacky as hell and an extremely overstimulating place I loved it. The fudge was exceptional. Had a pretty good cheesesteak burrito too. Brisket sandwich was okay. Bought a load of garbage stuff like magnets and shot glasses and had fu...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Really laughable all round. Convinced by the Mayor in the 8th inning to move off the obvious site because Cordish were shit scared people wouldn't walk literally another 0.2 miles to P&L as opposed to an EC stadium, and the sad thing is people are so married to their cars here it was probably fu...

Frank White looking all smug on X posing for photos as if he's just won the lottery. The city just lost a much needed shot of vibrancy and economic development and you are gloating about it? Tragic man.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Moved here as an outsider and feel regardless of location there's an insurmountable car centric mentality that just can't be defeated. Makes me want to consider my options and start to look elsewhere. Reaction over the next few weeks is key but it's an uphill battle.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I keep seeing tweets from people saying they voted no but they don't mind the Royals Downtown just not in this rushed manner at the Crossroads. @DColeKC you think there is any possibilty they come back for a second stab at DT if it's no or it's then off to try Clay County or Kansas?

Unhinged freaks. The only convincing they will do is turning people to a yes vote.Chris Stritzel wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2024 8:58 pm Sunrise Movement confronted John Sherman. And they think he owes them a response after coming up on him like this?

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
In the Crossroads just now and it's pretty quiet with the only real foot traffic really being people in town for the Big 12 wrestling tournament. You can't tell me that the city is in a position to refuse this, it's madness bordering on selfishness.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Reading KC tenants twitter they are actually attracting a lot of mocking and ridicule in the comments of their posts and not just those with Royals or Chiefs logos in their display photos, but normal people. Almost like they are useful idiots for the yes vote in some ways as much of their content co...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Had to laugh hard at the Chiefs mentioning the environment and efforts to reduce carbon emissions. You're literally adding parking to an area with no transit and 20k spaces already. This shit is doomed.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
In the event of a no vote I struggle to foresee a scenario where the much smaller Clay County votes through both a more expensive tax for it's residents but also where they feel like sloppy seconds because Jackson County said no.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Another major point for me from this is losing the teams to Kansas further pulls the epicenter of the metro away from Downtown and further south and west into the Kansas suburbs which I think is being heavily overlooked. The two major teams are one huge thing Jackson County and Missouri still holds ...

As part of the CBA for me there absolutely would have to be provision for gameday shuttle service from Downtown at the very least and also potentially other parts of the metro.

I’m disappointed we aren’t getting a mixed-use component to this, but I’m never going to say “never” to that one. The Hunts have other things in mind from what I’ve been told on that front.
