Re: Columbus Park Redevelopment
What I posted came from either the city or someone on the suit I will see if I can find the records. The depressing part is how long we have been having the same conversations. 26 years! It's baffling. I did not copy and paste the whole thing, only parts. Making progress Columbus Park on the reboun...

Re: Columbus Park Redevelopment
I agree with you that it was a mistake. Especially now in light of the lack of affordable housing, and long wait lists for HAKC housing, all that green space could have been devoted to more housing. There was a lawsuit in the 1990s when they tore down Guinotte Manor and part of the settlement was t...

Re: Columbus Park Redevelopment
Construction seems to have stopped at least a few months ago. I heard a rumor that the footings weren't deep enough and some of it was on the wrong side of the property line. I wouldn't be surprised, I met the foreman and he was a prick. Heard the same rumor. Not happy, especially with the exposed ...

Re: Real Estate Listings of Interest (Metrowide)
Yeah we need more rowhouse in KC but I wouldn't touch those due to the proximity to the highway. Glad they got built though! The six acres in Columbus Park around 4th and Gillis should be all rowhouses. We are looking at 3 plots of land near CP Lofts are are likely to be townhomes and live/work spa...

Re: Real Estate Listings of Interest (Metrowide)
Hopefully those townhomes sell quick. They seem a bit overpriced for being really close to highway noise. I want them to finish up and start on another project, because that one is a very good one. At least the rental portion probably made the financials work out easier. My understanding is that it...

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project
what was the scope of the study? Crossing the RR is one problem but even using industrial is pretty treacherous and I wouldn't recommend anybody walk it currently. It's a little hard to define. We went in with the idea that we might get something like a Town of Kansas bridge. We had hoped that Spir...

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project
Can't wait for an actual ped connection. That main street bridge is cool as an overlook but sucks for connection. The other option through Columbus park is dangerous and almost unusable. Where is the pedestrian connection going to be? What option do you have from Columbus Park? Walking down Guinott...

Re: Regional Transit Coordination
Patterson Hazley is not anti-development. I'm curious to know what kind of policies she is considering, which may include something for vacant buildings. I think she also plans to have a forum for developers to understand their roadblocks. If you follow her on X, she's very suburban-style developme...

Apartments and townhomes should be available this year: https://cptownhomes.com/ 2 more infill developments in the works, but information is not yet ready. Townhomes and SFH. LOL I'm for this project. You are so far up the ass of the Royals on this you can't see that anybody asking questions isn't on the pro side. What I'm trying to do is flesh out what the opposition is saying and posting SHE'S LYING, ARE ARE TWO NOT ONE BUSINESSES isn't going to win you any favor. I d...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Austin seems fine without football or baseball. Austin's a weird town. UT might as well be the NFL there Austin's not a slow growth midwestern city. It's a sunbelt city with the fastest growth rate of any city in the US and in a very business friendly state. There is not a 1:1 relationship between ...

https://globalsportmatters.com/business/2022/06/15/so-your-city-wants-sports-stadium/ You're never going to find an economist who will say tax-payer funded stadiums are a good investment. They don't work in anything besides numbers and the numbers are just one factor. Sports teams are so insanely i...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
It's still super disappointing in the leadership of KCMO (Platt, Q, etc) and JaxCo to make this backroom location "deal" with the Royals when the Royals were claiming to be so open with their fans and the taxpayers and all they knew it was EV, based on their own site as of a week ago. A f...
