Pennington is basically saying everything that’s been called for on this forum. Allow the Plaza to evolve, become more dense and add a mix of uses.
How much did Ken Block pay Collison for this piece of trash propaganda?

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar
Truman, Children’s and St Luke’s are all within a stone’s throw of the Main Street line. You don’t need to run a fixed line to KU. Improve 39th for better bus route, bikeability and sidewalks.

No, e-tax doesn’t apply to remote workers living outside KCMO.

Re: olathe lands another plum
JLL is listing the Farmers office portfolio in Olathe for sublease. 310,881sf of office space. It includes 16850 w 119th, 17000 w 119th and 10551 S Ridgeview. Not sure if this is their entire space use in the area, but that square footage would be about 1200 - 1400 employees.

KCUR article today seems relevant to this discussion. https://www.kcur.org/housing-development-section/2022-02-23/as-private-money-pours-into-18th-and-vine-residents-worry-about-a-plastic-disneyland Haven’t people complained about lack of investments in these very places for years? Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion
Fixed rail transit to Truman Sports Complex is a tough sell if the baseball stadium is moving downtown. Not having those 81 dates is a killer for ridership (even if Leeds is built out to its full manufacturing/industrial potential).

Re: Four Light
Many will disagree but Armour and Main should have something like these at each 4 corners, which would also give Midtown KC an identity, provides both Plaza/Downtown views and could create a new power center along RCP corridor. Score an Urban Target at base of one of them and it might appease neigh...

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion
I have no objection to a streetcar going north along Oak to Gladstone and then see what happens. There are a lot of parcels along Oak that could be developed into something much denser. KCMO certainly needs to create some density in the Northland and this would be a good start. A test case. I like ...

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion
So the airport to downtown (which isn’t a neighborhood or urban core development issue) should be in a different category then, right? We’re not looking for it to develop (right?) we just want the ability to get from airport to the core. Why don’t we just try to pass that with a vote then, and cont...

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion
If things go really well and the Main St. extension is very popular, then why don't we go for the full blown $1 bil project that puts up streetcar lines all over the place instead of one at a time? If it fails, we just go back to the original plans. But why not try it? Assuming this mythical money ...

Re: OFFICIAL: Zona Rosa (tenants & phase II)
It was a good call to remove that single story retail from phase 2. It opens up the visibility to the department store and creates what could become a nice public space. We visited the ice rink for a birthday party in December. The rink itself could use improvement in the future, but the kids had a ...

UMKC still doesn’t own the entire corner. The old gas station is still privately owned. I also think the lawsuit/uncertainty over the dorms to the North caused some delays in their plans. Right. This would be a private project. I don’t understand why we haven’t seen or heard of any plans on this co...

In Texas BBQ is beef, in Carolina BBQ is Pork, in Kansas City if it’s dead we’ll smoke it (the wood mixture just needs to include hickory).

The K-10 corridor has been primed for this kind of development for so long. I would love to see a high-tech manufacturing corridor develop all the way out to Lawrence’s east side business park. The parts all seem to be there.

Sat on the Cushman Wakefield 2022 global forecast this morning. Their senior economist was bullish about the general economy in the US noting a 90% chance for continuing economic expansion (& only a 10% chance for a recession) in 2022. Notes positive signs for retail and office sectors. Only thi...
