Re: Columbus Park Redevelopment

This parcel is for sale at the NE corner of 5th and Holmes. Chris, have you looked at it? https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/700-E-5th-St_Kansas-City_MO_64106_M98855-63101 I’ve taken a look at it. I could definitely do something there, but the problem now is uncertainty in the econom...

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?

overnight is a huge over statement. one could literally predict this was going to happen 7 years ago... natural inflation and a desirable urban center finally investing in itself will do that EVERY time.

Re: 12th and Broadway site: RFP for mixed use

This site is pretty amazing actually. Quality Hill, specifically on W 12th St x Broadway Blvd only will benefit from this! Who knows maybe there will be enough of a population base to convince someone to re-open the corner store at W 11th x Broadway.

Yes please! 9th Street could have an impressive street wall, especially if the Cambia hotel makes a comeback.

Re: Strawberry Hill Renaissance

It's crazy to think the heavy investment in DTKC over the last 2 decades has trickled into KCK.

i. the Strawberry Hill site
ii. the Rainbow Blvd site
iii. the 2nd, and potential 3rd, Yards project

Hopefully leasing is strong and a new era for density in her neighborhoods is coming!

Re: 5th and Main (Northwest Corner)

This is one of my personal favorite designs in the KC Metro rn. The color template looks like it will blend in well while still being modern. Plus I love the density and green elements, and the fact that the garage won’t be very noticeable.

Re: Kansas City will likely suffer 'off the charts' heat in the next 30 years, new study predicts

I just hope this is a worse case scenario and can be altered. Let’s be honest 115 degrees is high but liveable with good a/c. 125 will require new technologies to combat the heat or KC will become unbearable.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

The Crossroads location is very unlikely. East Village isn’t nearly as isolated as people make it out to be, and is connected by transit + better access to the freeway. Even North Loop is a more ideal location; and would be infinitely more urban. Also we have no chance of the Wrigleyville vibe becau...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

The East Crossroads idea is ludicrous. If we are demolishing existing structures it should be the old county jail and the fletcher building. Keep it real due to baseballs NE facing requirements there will never be a great downtown view without building on Broadway. I think the way the stadium ties i...

Lucas admits the affordable incentive failed after EDC applications fall to 0 since being introduced. 1. City vote to bond $50mm affordable housing and $125mm for parks and parking. 2. Affordable requirement change to 20% at 60% AMI vs. current 10 at 70 and 10 at 30 3. Guarantee incentives for proj...
