Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
curious. What if we scrapped the Jackson County sports commission and created a true Metro wide Sports Authority of sorts. Where we look at professional sports stadiums and such but a metro/regional approach. So we create a Kansas City Regional Sports Authority and look to get all counties in the Me...

Re: NE Corner of 14th & Wyandotte (300 unit apartment)
I’m a bit biased being from & living in the Northland, but NorthPoint is a good company with some great success stories. They built their business and really became a major player & built a solid culture with their company. Could be poised to be a Cerner 2.0 up here to better long term succe...

Re: NE Corner of 14th & Wyandotte (300 unit apartment)
Somewhat related, I see NorthPoint Development has taken over for Lux on an apartment development in STL, as per KCBJ. I believe that project had yet to start so a little easier to change hands. But it had not occurred to me that a company like NorthPoint might be a good fit for projects that Lux ha...

Re: OFFICIAL - LuxLiving 'The Wonderland' (formerly Faultless Linen)
If needed, could it be feasible for another developer to pick up the project and finish it? Obviously they would have to buy the property and such, based on a number of future value etc. But if there is a developer that can come in a finish off what was started I would think it might be appealing. I...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
If it's making them decide between KC side or KS side I'd call it poaching. I agree with you if it is end up in KS or not have MLB or NFL in town, then KS it is. I also 100% agree the Jackson County leadership is completely failing the constituents. I suspect it is Frank White and maybe a few of his...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I suspect attendance had more to do with Sporting getting off to a very rough start and for the most part a down season, than the location of their current stadium. Soccer is still pretty niche within the professional sports landscape of the Unites States. The MLS has done a great job in promoting a...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I thought KS & MO had agreed to stop the “border war” when it came to poaching businesses & moving dollars around the Metro but resulting in a zero sum NET gain. This would be the biggest of the poaching ever, and if not certainly the biggest in the last 50yrs. They may not employe a lot of ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
My point with TMobile is arena was built basically in tandem with P&L. It was the catalyst to spark the development. New baseball stadium in EV will be catalyst for the East side of downtown and south from there to the eastern edge of Crossroads. We need to look at it as creating a new unique ar...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I think the EV provides a great location and again as I have stated several times a blank canvas to develop from in and around. If we look at the T-Mobile. It was built with an entertainment across the street. There has been a lot of development near TMobile but also spanning the blocks to the West ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
honestly the whole process makes the Royals Ownership look like bumbling fools. They say good things, the right things, then go silent for months. Come back with some nonsense and now we are 2 steps back from where we were. Then the release some renderings and say good things, 1 step forward. Then ...

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??
I would love to see their artifacts on display. They have done a nice job with their museum. I’ve been to it a few time & enjoyed it. I like the idea of having it be part of a larger natural history museum of some kind around downtown. I get the current owners are not the best/well liked but reg...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I like the ideas and being curious about options. But why now? Why not have given this more conversation when it was first introduced. This just gives the appearance of the Royals Ownership and Team Executives not having there stuff together. This just adds to a narrative out there of incompetency....

Agreed a free shuttle would be nice & perhaps replace the revenue from the shuttle with another amenity or experience.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I just want a site downtown. I would suspect there are as many options for development around the stadium the Royals wanted? I mean there are a ton of established & striving businesses in the area. Are they going to buy them out to pave the way for their wants? EV is such a blank canvas I would ...

Re: Fixing the KC Zoo (ongoing)
went to the aquarium about a month ago with my kids. They loved & I enjoyed it was well. As you mentioned not too big but not too small either. Fits a nice attraction point for the zoo. I liked how the exhibit took you from the coast to the deeper waters & back. The mangrove shore stuff with...

Re: Worlds of Fun becoming Six Flags?
Where was the old main entrance? used to be right on the East side of the park, where the Patriot and such is now just to the South of that general area. Maybe where the Steel Hawk is now. That entrance took your right into Americana where all the shops and stuff are and you fanned out from there. ...

Have to try this out. I really enjoyed the fast casual place that did bowls over on Johnson Drive & Metcalf. Same family, and it did well but was a pandemic casualty.
