Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?

why is there not a counter group or someone who is watching the watchers so to speak? Do we know they are operating correctly? the only way to defeat a group like this is to use their tactics against them and look for cracks to exposes them as frauds. Name calling is not going to work. Their goal is...

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project

it's a shame some of those with a vote are so scared of this group. If they are confident in their decision then move forward. The general public is not aware of these ass hats. And if so have enough confidence in yourself and your abilities to support your opinion and why you are voting the way you...

Re: E-Sports Stadium

I thought an eSports arena was part of a plan out in JOCO along with youth sports, soccer fields, etc. For some reason I recall them wanting to build an arena. Maybe it was not eSports specific but it would cater to those events. Videos game are massively popular so perhaps 2 event spaces would be f...

Re: Shoal Creek Valley Neighborhood Plan

Northland has good bang for your buck on housing, very good public schools and easy access to any part of the Metro. Heck even from that area along 152 you can see the skyline of downtown which means really nothing but perhaps invoking a closeness to the city as opposed to being fully submerged into...

Re: New Riverfront Women's Soccer Stadium

also, I'm not saying that driving to the game is a negative, it is not. It is easy enough to drive to Royals and Chiefs games now. Yes there is traffic and it can be a hassle to leave. But some patience and being prepared will help avoid that. I'm saying that it appears a bit shortsighted for the Cu...

Re: New Riverfront Women's Soccer Stadium

Suburbanites have to drive 20-30 mins, find & pay for parking, drive all the way back home. Urbanites can take a free streetcar, be there in 10-15 mins. With so many fewer barriers for urbanites to get there, I don't see why we'd be discounting more urbanities going to the game. With all the ba...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I would be floored if the world class firms in the city were not engaged in making the stadium and surrounding areas amazing. This is their chance to design a stadium and urban area that will be around for a generation and serve as a backdrop to so much branding for the city. They will have tons of ...

Re: Rankings, lists, and such

This list must be weighted more heavy to the Engineering side of things rather than design. Populos being 107? They are a world renowned design firm, having designed some of the best sports stadiums in the last 30 years. HOK is another amazing design firm. But I'd guess I would call those more archi...

Re: New Riverfront Women's Soccer Stadium

Talked to one of the people on this project and they emphasized to me that there will be basically zero parking involved with the stadium. This person told me "they're gambling big time that the streetcar will be enough to fill most of the seats" with some Uber mixed in. Woah, that is a h...

Re: Westport

That’s a bummer Komatsu was good. It had a nice run. Curious to see what goes in its place. But I feel there will be some new replacement soon to pop up. Either strictly ramen or some kind of sushi/ramen place. Japanese cuisine is still popular.

Re: 10th and Main Southwest Corner (former transit center)

Could be, but there are already banks around. I mean we have the new Branch at Corner of 10th and Main in the Commerce Bank Building. Then head south on Main and you have BOK Financial, Country Club & Bank Midwest, all within the 10th & 11th. Plus some new BOA video branch at 12th & Main...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

trying to convince any skeptic about downtown baseball, especially those whose main sticking point is the "hassle" of going downtown is not going to change their mind. The reality is those who are complaining or raising concerns are people who bitch and moan about going to the K now and wh...

Re: 10th and Main Southwest Corner (former transit center)

Seems odd, as a park would most likely attract some undesirable elements at times, which when it was a bus depot thingy there were issues. A park may be nice to have some greenspace close but along with it would be the potential to increased trouble, etc. A building I would think be better usage and...

Re: Capping the Loop

Times have changed. One can smoke weed legally in public, and not smoke cigarettes in most places now. I flew to Paris once on a red-eye Air France 747 widebody and it seemed every passenger on the airplane was chain-smoking the entire flight--and drinking. It was like being in a disco at 10,000 fe...

Re: Capping the Loop

Sure you could have food trucks on a regular basis, bigger question is will downtown workers support it? I doubt it as they don't support the already existing options for lunch during the week. H&R basically begs their employees to stay inside the building and besides Chipotle and Johnny's Tave...

Re: Rocky Branch Creek Technology Park

Isn't Evergy involved in the proposed giant solar farm by the airport? I assume that would help with renewable energy as that proposed solar farm would be the largest in the US and hold a top status in the world as well.

Re: OFFICIAL - Grand Place (former KC Star building)

Exciting development plans, I didn't see pickle ball, but perhaps just overlooked it and or could not tell if it was just some courts or a whole entertainment concept like Chicken n Pickle. Either way I love the infill plan and mixed use proposed. Will really fill in more the cross roads with busine...

Re: OFFICIAL - Grand Place (former KC Star building)

think a Chicken N Pickle type of setup, a smaller "urban footprint" one with yard games, courts etc. would do great down in the crossroads. Isn't that under construction next to City Club? I honestly don’t know. I don’t think so but could be wrong. But if it is kudos to them as I feel the...
