Re: Downtown recovery

until more business within downtown require more ppl to be onsite the "recovery" will continue to lag. I have no issue with WFH but I think 100% WFH should be limited to some roles and more specifically individuals that can show sustained responsibility and productivity. Personally I enjoy...

Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District

bummer to hear this but typical cat & mouse game that goes on with the homeless folks this time of year. They go wherever they know they can and or see an opportunity. Most likely P&L with events and such the past few weeks have dedicated resources to some other areas and these folks saw an ...

Re: Widening I-70

Biggest issue with the a-holes in the left lane is they do not use cruise and the move over planning a pass but they have no speed regulation and then they have to get up to speed again to pass, and once they do linger too long to change back to right lane. Cruise control, adaptive cruise features a...

Re: Widening I-70

Having driven twice this year mainstay Interstates in the South: I24 from Nashville to Chattanooga, then I75 south all the way down into FL on my way to Orlando. Then the I65 corridor in Alabama connecting Montgomery & Birmingham. A lot of those stretches are 3 lanes, with truck traffic not allo...

Re: OFFICIAL - Buck O'Neil Bridge

It's cute that ya'll think the North Loop removal and 9 hwy redo are happening and that this "bridge" was the prerequisite. LOL Talk about rose colored lens.. I was asking the question more of the how not really whether it will happen or not. Do I think it will happen within the next 10yr...

Re: OFFICIAL - Buck O'Neil Bridge

I'm very much for lowering grade on HWY 9 and connecting the East & West sides of RIvermakret/Columbus Park. I liked the renderings they have shown on that. I'm also a big fan of removing the North Loop as well, or doing something different with it. However I'm not 100% sure how that will work t...

Re: Nashville?

No expansion talk, and Royals are not moving to Nashville. Could one happen, sure. I’d bet on expansion to get to 32 teams like football. But both clubs in FL struggle with fan base. One needs new stadium, the other got a a terribly ugly monstrosity new park. Nashville might be a good fit but nothin...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Weird that KS folks would not be juiced for a closer location. But I understand, as most KS suburbanites very rarely journey beyond their 10 mile radius from their home. It can be a little of a drive to reach an interstate to get across to another part of the Metro. But I think it’s mostly a knee je...

Re: OFFICIAL - Buck O'Neil Bridge

This bridge is going to be very unappealing in terms of design. I understand a lot of it has to do with building requirements of FAA & airport. Rest is at the hands of MODOT & politicians basically wanting to get it done to serve a function not be functional as well as have a nice design. It...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

A lot can in the next 3.5 yrs. I mean new KCI open in FEB, April NFL draft is in town to be 1st big event for KC. Not to mention NCAA hoops before. But I think KC will be in a bit of a “groove” leading up to 2026. Strike while iron is hot and get some businesses to relocate, grow what we have & ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I read & heard a lot of opinions on this topic and the impact it could have downtown, good & bad especially in regards to will it take away from P&L if they build another entertainment district, etc. I would think that if you build in the EV you create a stronger neighborhood over in tha...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

They will need a vote to extend the current tax. They will need a vote if other counties are expected to join in. Architects can design anything they can dream of but at what cost. KC has a limited budget and a lack of willingness to RAISE taxes for this project maybe even to maintain taxes for thi...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

The public piece gives me pause, really hoping it will be for other things related to development around it and or within the structure of incentives and such that government can grant; ie no public funds that require a vote. The Rendering I saw on Twitter I hope is just a placeholder, and not even ...

Re: West Bottoms Redevelopment

I agree with you on not only transit but routes into the West Bottoms. From the Eastern approach there is what, 2-3 ways to get down there. From KCK/KS side there again is maybe 1-3 ways and that is it. I'm not sure you could create more routes or not given the topography. But if anything improving ...

Re: Main & Armour - Mac Properties

Maybe KC Tenants could apply for grants and incentives to renovate their own homes and help create affordable housing they could benefit from some extra rental income instead of just chasing off developers and having them side step incentives and just go where they know they can make the most money....

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

I guess my other question here what exactly do the Chiefs own currently land wise. I know the TSC is owned by the County, so the stadium and parking lots. Do the Chiefs own the land where their HQ sits, along with the practice facilities? I ask this because if they were to move to KS what happens to...

Re: Portillo's in here

Saw this article. Would love to have this in KC. But hell I’d love Jack in the Box, Jersey Mikes, Schlotzsky’s, Krispy Kreme to be located with the city limits of KC. There are no franchises within city of KC for these places, which is weird. Maybe with the growth of the Northland those can be added...
