Re: Capping the Loop

looks awesome, and I would love to have some kind of "art attraction" like The Bean in that area. The renderings do give it a Millennium Park feel. I also like the terraced elevations as you move up toward the convention hall. Overall it is awesome and could be a real statement point for downtown. C...

The Northland is really KCMO last chance to expand and build it's tax base. It's untapped potential, and been sitting like that for years. Nobody wants to say woo-hoo suburban sprawl! But honestly is shocking how far behind the Northland lacks in amenities compared to other middle/upper middle class...

Re: Main St. Buick GMC Site - 3200 Main St.

Behind the dealership is a USPS site I think. maybe a garage where they work on the trucks? Not sure but I know it's USPS. Not sure that will put a wrinkle in the overall development opportunities. I'd be more curious to see what Happens to the building and land that occupies the NW corner of 31st &...

That picture of the park with the fountain and such looks great. I’ve never seen BAP look like that. Manicured park setting is awesome. I’d get behind something like a return to that and maybe even a sculpture garden dotted within. Perhaps some amenity kiosks on the outside 4 corners. Just a nice ou...

I really like this project. Location is great and overall design is nicer could it be tweaked a little? Sure, but overall very nice. I like how this has the potential to develop that area so as to create more residential vibrance in Westport from West side to East. Really could help spark the develo...

Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.

The BK and Public Storage northern corners are pretty low activation. I wonder if the owners will now be more willing to sell. Would be interesting for them to sell for redevelopment. However I think both also have a reason to stay in the area as services residents would use, especially BK being wa...

Well as someone within management & mortgage lending with Commerce, I will say that there are a lot of clients who can or could do things on their own with little to no interaction with people. Keep in mind there will always be "people behind the curtains" making decisions and such. Plus if you run ...

Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District

There is a BOA branch in 1 KC Place. I don't see them relocating as they "remodeled" that branch recently with their new concept. Saves them money on moving, and I'm sure rent is higher in P&L. I would not want that move and I realistically don't see it If I'm not mistaken there are permits pulled....

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting thoughts for sure. especially the thoughts of if the team was owned by a billionaire Native American or a Native American tribe they would have more "carte blanche" to name the team whatever they want. It appears the issue is since a white person/white people own it their intentions are ...

Loews is showing a covered skywalk headed north over the park to what appears to be an elevator shaft. Looks like it would connect to the ...

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

nothing wrong with 50yr planning, and like you said laying the legal groundwork early is key. However That far out has money/funding questions for sure. As far as developers interested. When the street car was first announced, it was touted as a starter line with plans in place showing possible expa...

interesting this shows a cap all the way up to Wyandotte, yes? I thought they would stop just West of Main, where Baltimore starts to avoid dealing with the elevation change. I could be wrong on that.

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project

I hope this spurs some much need development of other spots in the East Bottoms, take advantage of Reiger stuff and Knucklheads. The railroad does kidn of mess up the ease of access down there as trains can stretch for miles and prevent you from getting across the tracks at times. Plus the giant Car...

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

Some kind of rail system, where you can park and then commute to airport would be best. Limit the stops its makes and have enough capacity to carry passengers and frequency of trains to ensure the time spent is of benefit. That's the first thing. IF rail is done poorly and it takes on average 45-60...

Just to give 2 cents on the Chiefs name quick. I think the name pays homage, like the name "warrior or brave". It's when you try to associate it with Native American culture is where people get upset. I understand their side, just don't fully share the opinion. I don't see anything wrong with it, be...

Re: 5th & Main Southern Corners

Interesting, like the basic 3-d model, helps get a little better perspective. I’ll be interested to see the renderings. I hope they will impress. One thing I don’t see happening is the closing of the North loop. They may give it a diet and restructure but I can’t see a complete removal. That loop is...

Re: Kansas, Missouri battle over companies

with them having their HQ already in Indiana, I can see where they would have been heavily incentivized by the state to stay there, Indianapolis is the largest city and the capital, so it is easier to sometime focus these type of efforts and deals to make them work. Good for IN to score 600 jobs or ...
