Re: Martini Corner near 31st/Gilham

Yeah, it says Superior Linens needs a partner/investor/mentor. They definitely need some help. I'm not too surprised that they have some interest in development because all of their properties besides their main linen building are under the title of Superior Real Estate Venture, which would hint th...

Re: Old KCPS HQ - 12th & McGee

I thought there had been a new rendering for development in this area, beyond the twisty building. It does stink that there is that much blank/open parking rang lad in that area. It will kind of be a hole now with what is around it. However I do like the fact they tore down a building that was aging...

Re: The Xroads First Friday Thread...

There are some challenges for FF, but I think the leadership of the City see it as a major bright spot to unite the community every month and showcase the "downtown" general area. I agree the galleries will not push hard for it, as it had become almost non-existent about art the last 3-4 years, comp...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Just looking at the rendering, showing the aerial view. If you rotate the stadium counter clockwise, to make home facing for North than North East it would give you some better views from right field side of stadium and options to fill in the outfield with building views. The FED Courthouse might e...

also is that area in the Center School District or KCPS? Might be some crossover. Just curious how that plays out, especially with the single family home situation of the development. Hickman, Center, Raytown thanks for that info. Wasn't sure how far South & West Raytown district went. Plus I forgo...

Re: The Glade - 87th & I435

I'm curious on this project, as the plan is for it to be a campus of of high end businesses in biotech, health sciences, etc. Think of it as an extension of the Stowers Institute by UMKC. I love that they are targeting these kind of businesses and high end jobs. Combine it with Cerner close by and t...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

IF you build it they will come, no doubt in my mind and it will spur other investment and development. Plus I'n fairly confident that the design will be amazing. We have some of the world's best (if not the best) sport architecture firms here in KC. Pair that with the construction and engineering ta...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

even if it is built North/North East from East Village. This should be Incentive to create some new Skyline beyond the walls of the outfield. I bet you could even get projects that would start at the same time of construction to time their opening with the new stadium. Build some residential Towers...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I agree East Village is most likely spot. Too many dots leading that way, especially with JE Dunn peeps as part of the ownership group. I believe they control land in the East Village and or have relationships with the group who does. This would be a huge catalyst for development on the East side of...

Re: OFFICIAL - Waddell & Reed - 14th & Baltimore

The developers should buy that mural they took off the Board of Education building and hang it somewhere in that big black space to break it up. https://arthurkraft.wordpress.com/category/mosaic/ That's a great idea. Or if the city owns the mural they should approach Waddell & Reed about adding it ...

Re: Freight House Podium Project - 20th and Walnut

I spy a streetcar stop in this rendering too I feel that a streetcar stop here is pointless since it's about halfway between the Union Station and Crossroads stop. It's not that long of a walk to this site from either of those stops, especially once this is developed. Besides, it looks like this st...

love it, and I like that they are courting out of town developers. The proposal is great and really works to improve a large area that needs some work to better fit into the surrounding neighborhood. I hope this project can get done

Re: Downtown Q3/4 (re-)occupancy needed - service industry needs love

I think offices will look to bring back a focus on spaced, individual, work spaces, like cubicles, or something similar. There will be needs for collaboration spaces, and that need may need to be larger so as to not crowd people in a tiny conference room at times. It will be an interesting mix. I ca...

So if you don't know if there are issues what exactly are you commenting on? Something you made up? just simply commenting on what others had communicated, and information that has circulated over the years. Some of it documented by news agencies and police reports etc. There is archival data to re...

what did I say was bad? Someone commented that there were problems at one of the buildings. I understand that sometimes there are good ppl living with some not so nice ppl and apartments can get a bad rep. My hope is whatever happens to the building those good ppl still get a chance to live there an...

Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.

Very impressed and I did not realize just how many were being done. I hope it continues to to happen until that whole area is redone. Bringing back some upscale, market rate residential to the area should be a boom. Really, just about all of the buildings have been renovated and brought to market r...
