Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Tying them together in the vote is win win Chiefs get the Royals out of their way. Frees up options for additional development or building a new stadium next door Royals don’t have to bear basically any of the weight or pressure for the vote. Like they don’t need to sell the idea nearly as hard. I s...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Always been kinda so so on the East Village site. Seems like the only positive is how much empty land there is. I’d rather them put it where the KC Star building is, across the highway from the T-Mobile Center. Fits a lot better being next to the area and the close proximity to P&L. Can use the ...

Re: I-70
I wish it were politically feasible to toll the interstate. It would raise a lot of money for maintenance and fund a majority of the proposed roadway expansion. For some reason drivers baulk at the idea of paying $20 to drive across well over 300 miles of interstate. It's hardly a big ask when you'r...

Re: I-70
It looks pretty likely that they’re gonna move forward with widening I-70 across the state. The new budget has 2.8 billion in funding to expand I-70. Yikes. Like 10% of that would be enough to fund a new 5-10 mile long light rail line. Can’t ever expect this state to put more than a few pennies into...

Re: Freight House Podium Project - 20th and Walnut
I meant between downtown and crown center. But yea, just though it would be could to see the crossroads build up like what's happening basically. I always though it would be pretty amazing if the Plaza area buildings were all in all the empty lots of the crossroads. I know, nerdy, but can you imagi...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
That grass field + parking lot to the north is owned by the city. So it's very likely that it could be handed over to developers for the stadium. I wonder if they'd be able to bury a parking garage underneath that block. Then maybe they could do an underground tunnel to the stadium like they have wi...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I’m very curious how these plans would sit with MoDOT. It seems like the city is in favor of converting those streets to 2-way. MoDOT seriously has to improve access on the east side of the loop. It’s the shortest system-to-system interchange distance in the loop and has a multiple interchanges with...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
What's the bare minimum in terms of footprint? Seems Fenway in Boston has a tiny footprint. With the Missouri Board of Education Building being taken out, there are two square blocks immediately north of Sprint Center that are almost totally vacant. The location is ideal but is it large enough? Wit...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
The southwest boulevard site doesn’t look super promising. I don’t think there’s enough there to make a move from the K worth it. It’s like a mile away from the crossroads streetcar stop. A ballpark there would be too far from downtown to take advantage of all of the existing parking infrastructure....

Re: New Broadway Bridge
My top priority, watching this project unfold, is removing the north loop. At the very least they need to make it much more compact and have less exits, like the south loop. But I think I’d be much better to reconnect the street grid with a boulevard. Maybe they could use the trench for buried parki...
