How the heck does Town Topic not count? That's as dinery a diner as ever dinered.
Sure, it counts. It's a little far from my house, but delicious.

Re: Amenities missing from downtown

Need more and smaller retail spaces to help keep rents down. Additionally, most restaurants shouldn't be 200 seats, but rather something considerably smaller. This would lower barriers to entry for entrepreneurs and increase variety for potential customers.

Same. Unfortunate.

I'm told the poke place above former Koko Thai is quite good, though it is table service.

Right? Somebody at the health department signed off on the plans, surely? This is the second time in recent memory that a heath dept issue has held a project up at the 11th hour.

I agree that $6/mo seems a bit much for the amount of coverage he was providing. I may do it just to help subsidize and support the model though. He should really consider joining forces with the Shawnee Mission Post folks and any other independent news bloggers in the area. They could potentially ...

No windows in the bedroom of the 1br is an interesting move at ~$1400/mo.

Does it say anything about our market that two somewhat novel concepts have been replaced by hamburgers and fried shrimp?

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

Tangential, but does it annoy anyone else that the Library stop is a lot closer to the Metro Center than the Metro Center stop? I think that is because Metro Center really denotes City Center, but that name was not chosen because it sounded like favoritism of the nearby building...which has now bee...

135 parking spots at 5 people per car = 675 people

135 parking spots at 7 people per car (it is south JoCo after all!) = 945 people

Something less than a drop in the bucket. This country is ill with Stockholm Syndrome when it comes to our parking.

Re: Fantasy Retrofits: Barney Allis Plaza

One would hope the City would consider some mixed use component. A street-grade restaurant on the corner would be nice. There are several hundred new residents west of Broadway in the new apartment communities. KCS, HNTB, Turner Construction, Americo, and DST employees might like a new eatery in th...

This does look nice. I suppose my only questions are: Why head-in parking and what happened to the no-curb option? Wouldn't that better identify the area as shared/pedestrian oriented space?

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!

I at first had issues with no covered tunnel from garage to terminal but it's pretty common at all airports and seems fine. If it's raining when you are parking for a departure just go down to the bottom level and walk across Or simply walking in the rain for 30 seconds reveling in your semi-waterp...

There is a space next to the garage for a future rail or BRT station. It also looks like solar panels will be on top of the garage and entry/exit points. Pics plz Next to the north-side garage wall at the departures drop off. https://www.buildkci.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/191103_KCI-Garage_Vie...

I wish we didn't have to have a monstrosity of a garage, but it is what it is. I hope it's been designed for present and future transit. There is a space next to the garage for a future rail or BRT station. It also looks like solar panels will be on top of the garage and entry/exit points. Pics plz
