The newish LUV is a big improvement over the previous iteration, agreed. Assuming you mean DAL.
Yes, yes of course. Damn SW marketing.

The other unsung hero here is LUV. While it isn't sexy necessarily, it looks nice, functions well and is a pleasant place to spend a little time while connecting.

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!

I fly pretty frequently and agree that, while it would be cool to have an iconic or beautiful airport, in the absence of unlimited funds functional is all that really matters. I cannot think of an airport I have ever been to which really "impressed" me and felt like a great place to kill several ho...

Re: What Makes a Good Rooftop Sign?

You can outlaw anything, unless there's a law against outlawing it; but then you can just outlaw the law against outlawing the thing you want to outlaw. Signs are a form of speech. Good luck banning any form of speech. You can have architectural requirements for signs but not ban their existence. L...

Re: What Makes a Good Rooftop Sign?

I’d like to see company signs outlawed. I think they remove the need to make a building iconic because you can just slap a sign on the side for promotion. Instead of, “The Waddell & Reed building, you know, the one with the lighted spire on top.” you just look for the sign. You can't outlaw private...

So this is like a CVS minus the pharmacy? Sure but throw in the soda fountain, slurpee, and rotisserie hotdog machines you'd find at a QT https://www.supermarketnews.com/sites/supermarketnews.com/files/DGxGrabnGoBeverage.jpg.png https://media.bizj.us/view/img/10699109/dgx-store-schmidts-commons-nor...

The staff planner is Jamie.Hickey@kcmo.org (as per development map), I assume this is the best address to send concerns?
Yes, it is. After the staff report comes out we'll probably have a general call for people to write their councilperson and/or CPC.

I believe Power & Light Apartments can partake in the food services from the President. At least that was the case when P&L Building opened.

Re: OFFICIAL - Waddell & Reed - 14th & Baltimore

I also attended last night's meeting and confirm and appreciate TheLastGentleman's write up. I'd add only that the neighborhood requests on this project are somewhat minimal and ought to be the *default* starting point in a development project in a downtown area. It appears from the site plan that b...

It also suggests how we really aren't generating a return on the masses of infrastructure required to get people out of the city. The value is in the core.

It means the denser parts of the city have a much higher taxable value per acre than the less dense areas.

Pretty surprised to see this is still being put forward by Sunsource. I assumed the property would have changed hands given their financial issues.

EDIT: But these look much better than the plans that circulated a few years ago that had garages opening onto the sidewalk.
