Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Let’s just keep it boring and discuss the EV location. I’m sure the mayor won’t get his way anyway. I don't understand continuing to mention what the mayor wants? He doesn't own this city, is that supposed to provide validation to your opinion or something? Definitely great to bring baseball downto...

What is their (and your) source on this to confirm it's accurate?

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I thought we were building all this to attract visitors and increase the amount of downtown residents. A baseball stadium would help that goal more than any business would. I understand the negative consequences of a baseball stadium going in crossroads. I also understand the positives far outnumber...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

You can't recreate Wrigleyville even with an unlimited budget in any city. Again, North Loop offers a location surrounded by old, historic buildings that would make it feel surrounded and not isolated. Tear down the FlashCube building and two other buildings and you're good to go. It would also spe...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

"East Crossroads" is kind of hiding the ball as to what people are really advocating for. Y'all want the stadium to come right up to Grand right? That's just the Crossroads. East Crossroads is east of Oak, at least IMO. The streetscape around EV is just so horrifically bad. Imagine they p...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

“Low-rise” like Light 1-3? No, those would be high-rise buildings unless you disagree with IBC definition. I'm not saying the Royals should not also do high-rise apartments if they think the market can handle it and if they think they can compete. The smart money would be on low-rise residential th...

Re: NBA to Kansas City

WNBA viewership this past season was its highest in 14 years. And with new money being invested into the league, the addition of WNBA League Pass, and international initiatives -- the league is actually progressing in a positive direction. Attendance is certainly an issue in some markets -- just li...

Re: Bike Lanes

Honest question. How do you bicycle folks get your way so often? I have eyes on our downtown bike lanes often and rarely see them in use. I have seen more use than ever before recently after Grand got done. They got the delineators installed today btw. Whatever tactics you all use to get things done...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

The Royals district should focus on low-rise residential and retail with a few sports bars mixed in. If it goes in EV the bars will likely be dead on non-game days. “Low-rise” like Light 1-3? No, those would be high-rise buildings unless you disagree with IBC definition. I'm not saying the Royals s...

Re: NBA to Kansas City

I’m not sure I’ve heard anyone use the word woke in the past few years that doesn’t just mainline certain media into them. That aside, women sports are fun! I can’t speak for basketball, but where sports fail it’s normally do to a lack of investment and availability. Watching elite athletes at the ...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

Do we really need a Royals entertainment district, Chiefs entertainment district & Power Light district? Why do we need that many entertainment districts? It feels like something's gotta give. That's way too much and KC will spread itself too thin. No. The Royals district should focus on low-ri...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

Unless they find something alarming at Arrowhead, it will be 2050 - 2060 before a downtown NFL stadium is a serious reality.

We are in a far more unique situation when comparing our market size and team/stadium history to other cities who have built new stadiums.

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

Cincinnati, Indy, Denver, Minneapolis, pretty much everyone better or worse than KC gets to have this- but not Kansas City. Because 'endless parking garages' that every peer seems to deal fine with. Because the TSC is just such a gem that's so much better than this... https://twitter.com/Bengals/st...

Oh absolutely. That entire corner is about to evolve once more into something new. I am very curious to see what will replace that space. On the flipside I worked for the Johnny Kaws conglomerate for a year back in 2018 and I remember when Brett acquired the Californos building. Does anyone know wh...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Man, things like tiny cheese shops are what make an urban area thrive and unique, not bar complexes. Trying to diminish all the businesses there and moving there is telling. The Star building sucks for sure but wanting to fix that isn't worth it. It would be just as useful to tear the whole thing d...

Re: OFFICIAL - Waddell & Reed - 14th & Baltimore

Having a event or wedding at the top of a brand new 5-star hotel overlooking downtown KC would be cool. I also agree a major 5 star brand would be more ideal, just setting expectations because if it ends up being a Live! hotel, it will still be a great higher end addition to downtown.

Another dude that doesn’t like women’s sports. Anything else you want to educate us on? Exactly. I'm a big men's basketball fan (both professional and college) -- and I truly enjoy the women's game as well. Both in-person and on TV can be exciting if you're a fan of the sport. Watching the best ath...

Re: NBA to Kansas City

Another dude that doesn’t like women’s sports. Anything else you want to educate us on? No one likes the WNBA, it’s not exclusive to men. My wife is a former starting member of a D1 athletic program and can’t stand to watch it. The men who say they like the wnba are lying and just trying to be woke...
