Re: Three Light

I was told to expect new info about this project by the end of July, but now it's several days into August with nothing. Anyone know what's going on? No major changes and still wanting to break ground this year. Right now a lot of the focus is on working with commercial tenants considering many are...

Re: P&L District: 13th & Baltimore site proposal

It’s not announced but they’re moving into Spark and will also have a visitors and sales center on Main in the old Two Light leasing office. With the convention business taking a dive and not looking to make a strong comeback until 2022, revenue is down sharply. This move will prevent them from faci...

Re: P&L District: 13th & Baltimore site proposal

Visit KC is moving out of their Baltimore office space permanently. Employees going remote. They’re only going remote temporarily. Visit KC will be moving into new offices still within the power and light district. Visit KC space too big and too expensive considering the current convention situation.

Re: Misc Crossroads News

Anyone know what bars/restaurants are currently open for guests? Looking to plan a date night for tonight and hitting up a few spots in the crossroads area. Everything is open except Rieger that I can think of. Any recommendations? She’s a wine lover and I’m a IPA and strong cocktail guy. I haven’t...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Ideally would have much broader amenities/services than P&L, which is mainly eats/entertainment. I've thrown out ideas like another library branch, NLB/Monarchs and jazz museum moved within the surrounding buildings, with view of the field. Maybe some city/state functions, with waiting areas that h...

Re: The Xroads First Friday Thread...

Would love to see FF come back bigger and better than ever after Corona. From my experience, FF is the primary means for exposing and "advertising" downtown to suburbanites and especially teenagers and college-aged persons. I’d say National TV coverage of downtown KC during big 12 and the Super Bow...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Speaking of stadiums. There’s a great series on YouTube that follows the construction of the new Raiders Allegiant Stadium in vegas. While I hate the raiders, I can’t wait to attend a game out there. The stadium design looks to be one of the best in the world.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

What's the bare minimum in terms of footprint? Seems Fenway in Boston has a tiny footprint. With the Missouri Board of Education Building being taken out, there are two square blocks immediately north of Sprint Center that are almost totally vacant. The location is ideal but is it large enough? Wit...

Re: Operation Legend

I feel it would be a good thing for the republican party if Trump doesn't win. They need to reset, kick out some old heads and figure out how to appeal to younger people, women and minorities which will take years of work to do. Without the electoral college, the republican party would never stand c...

Re: Operation Legend

I can't imagine any of these theories coming true but I also feel like the "far-right" groups are very small in actual numbers. Like, hundreds not even thousands. I have no data on that and maybe I'm just wondering how people can be so stupid to think that way and actually want to start a civil war.

Or a serious redevelopment, it’s a good size
You think that’s possible? I figured between the tiny weird windows and insane interior demo costs, it would be a good explosion candidate.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

We could also expand it over to the jail if that ends up getting replaced with something else An entertainment district for a stadium isn't enough of a reason to tear down a historic structure The jail is also the police HQ from 1938. It should become part of such a district, not be torn down I thi...

https://www.kansascity.com/news/local/crime/article244421027.html Includes arrests from back in December and arrests unrelated to Operation Legend. The DOJ is a shitshow. How? Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

The biggest concern is going to be not having it surrounded by parking lots and be part of an actually urban development. Everyone get ready to fight on this. They must have a hof museum open year around, event space, and hopefully year around restaurants and bars. Royals are out of town? Head to t...

It also shows what this country's....priorities are.
Elaborate?

I'm going to guess you think this operation is all about Trump re-election? It may well be but if it also rounds up a bunch of killers, I'm all for it! It's only going to get worse.
