Kansas offering to finance 100% both stadiums with STAR bonds. How can either team pass this up? I'm not sure I'm reading this correctly...are you saying that Kansas is currently offering this? Or just speculating. Bill may pass as soon as tonight per kmbc Wyandotte County is planning a major amuse...

UMB’s acquisition of a Denver regional bank will propel the new firm to top 50 largest US banks. In terms of bank assets right above John Deere and BNP Paribas. Slightly behind CIBC, Western Bank, and Raymond James.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I just looked up attendance out of curiosity. Cardinals rank 6th in MLB with average of 37k. Royals are averaging 15k per game and rank 28th in the MLB for attendance. https://www.espn.com/mlb/attendance I said in person attendance. They’ve had alot of pretty empty days, not that we don’t either. Y...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

STL reputation has tanked. Especially with Wall Street Journal and now foreign press and online media calling it the next Detroit and a city in a doom spiral All due to the city losing the Rams? There isn’t much widely distributed materials painting the city in a positive light. Like having an NFL ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

We just don't have recent examples to point to showing how certain markets losing a major franchise can be severely detrimental to that city and region. I guess we could be one of those examples to prove that for most markets, the tax payer helping pay for these things is worth every penny. Has St ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

but Oakland is more comparable to our market. They’re already seeing the impact and I’m sure it will only get worse. What kind of impact are you talking about? And BTW Oakland also lost the NBA Golden State Warriors a few years ago. IIRC, they were the first city to loose a team in every major leag...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Could this guy's opinion be colored by the Bravo failure? No doubt, phoning in from westchester nonetheless  . But I think his point remains valid. The guy tried to put all his money on the line for a project he thought would boost KC to the next level, in the industry area he had an expertise...

Yep. A couple TIF commissioners blew up the incentives request saying they wanted another but-for analysis based on changes in the development program, that force the funding to not be closed as planned in 2023. https://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2023/11/15/14-wyandotte-lux-living-tif-comm...

Well. Two months after bids were due, and nothing yet (either behind the scenes that I’m aware of or public). Not worried, yet. If there was a buyer out there, Hilco would have found it. Hopefully by June or July we will have an announcement with actual legitimate financing. Money is beginning to m...

I sunshined the RFP earlier, I'll post it when I get it. Sure it's available to some ($$) bid platforms. (No idea why City can't upload all RFPs to the open data platform for keeping, KCMO has gone quite downhill on that front.) they post them for free to bonfire or plan room. Just require a free a...

Origin Hotel agreement. City is locked up until 2025, or 28, or 30. Forget what its based on. Think its 300 rooms and up too
