Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project

With the hotel restriction rolling off this August, would be great to see a major flag at the riverfront.

Total park space is increasing by 2-3 acres

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

St Louis is hitting the 1 year under construction mark on their 5 mile extension to Mid America airport. 5+ miles for $98 million. Mostly just unused land that was graded with a few bridge works. I think this can help serve as an example of how to do Waldo on a budget https://www.stltoday.com/news/...

Re: T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center)

would there be an option to have a pro sports team in TMobile and look to build a stand alone outstanding class concert venue somewhere within the downtown area? I Sure, there's always an option for anything. But, it costs money. A new arena in the US is going to cost over $1 billion. Oklahoma City...

Re: T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center)

So just using numbers from 2024, you would add 41 (actually typically more including preseason and playoff games). Lets round to 70 for a high-performing peer and 60 for a low-performing arena in games + concerts. KC: 43 concerts, 26 Big 12 games and KC is already about tied with an NBA or NHL city...

Re: OFFICIAL - Bartle Hall Expansion construction

Early discussions of a convention center expansion, remodel, and/or rebuild. Kansas City is realistically looking at a major overhaul of Bartle and mid-life renovation of T-Mobile Center. Mayor wants to renovate. Bartle Hall is 50 year old and the expansion turned 30 this year. Will be 60 and 40 yea...

Re: T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center)

If it were only that easy. Kansas City isn’t an anchor market when it comes to touring acts. They route through and if a date they want isn’t available they’ve got other choices and will simply skip the market. Toss in needing to work around a pro team schedule and you’d 100% lose several concert d...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

$500m 15 years ago and it’s fairly bare bones on the interior compared to a MLB or NFL stadium. The Cathedral is less than the $1b the Royals have said they will spend on the Royals stadium and it's much, much larger, over twice the capacity. The current design (what little we've seen from it) just...

If they had a 50-100% higher budget I’m certain they’d love to The bottom one cost around $500m and that is for a bigger football stadium. Others are similar. It doesn’t cost that much more to make something visually appealing, it just takes some care to make something that will last instead of jus...
