Re: Rankings, lists, and such

KC still in top 20 for construction starts for 2020 full year, 2nd in Midwest. Is actually up 20% for 2020 where US avg is down 20%. KC has been fairly consistent in top 20 last 5+ years. https://rebusinessonline.com/u-s-commercial-multifamily-construction-starts-down-20-percent-in-2020-says-dodge-...

Re: Plaza Environs

This project died right? So why would any of these others have legs? Also it sounds like 3 Light will end up being smaller than2 Light if it ever goes up. Just wondering the chances of these actually happening. https://discuss.nextkansas.city/uploads/default/original/1X/0a2832c27da73ea3c52453cc942e...

The podium is on the opposite (east) side of the Main Street viaduct from the (west) Freight House hotel proposal -- which is dead, as far as I know, since the parking lot became a condominium association split between the three restaurants. Were renderings ever put out for the 21 floor proposal fr...

Re: Is Midtown Marketplace one of the city's greatest blunders?

Tried out the OP Top Golf and loved it! I read that St. Louis is getting one near their downtown so I started playing with the idea here. The peach rectangle is roughly the length and width of the OP Top Golf. The entrance and "club house" would face main street. What remains of the Home Depot parki...

I like how they've incorporated every facade material available onto one project. Figure out which one people like and then can spread that to the whole structure eventually. Smart. Seriously, why so many? It’s an assault on your eyes not to mention a maintenance headache. Do architects even have t...

Re: Develop the area around the TSC?

The rail would also serve the VAMC. But also put a lid on Arrowhead so it could host events year-round. My only concern with this plan is the future of the stadium complex. Chiefs to KS and Royal's to downtown could open this site up toa huge park & ride and transit-served logistics center. Imagine...

Re: Regional Transit Coordination

The combined economies of JoCo and Jackson County roughly equal that of Nashville's anchor county. Yet, Jackson + Johnson are double the population and size. Increased wealth lets you give each voter more benefit per percent of taxation. Lets Move Nashville proposed "26 miles (42 km) of light rail a...

Does anyone remember the hotel that was proposed alongside the freight house redevelopment? Renderings and other details would be appreciated. my guess is that this will begin in 2023 if ever Construction will start in the next few months. Worst case, mid 2021 but I don’t think we will see worst case. You can imagine the curve ball the pandemic tossed in being before ground was broke. If they had started construction and than the pandemic...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

With full Democrat control at the Federal level, it does not seem unrealistic for some of their corona related transit plans to come to fruition. The fall heroes act included funding to help cover local share of 2019 & 2020 CIG projects. Could be of great help if updated to include FY21 $2.5 billio...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

Can we buy the vehicles now and start running them on the current track when they’re delivered? Or do we have to expand the garage first still? Don’t they take ages to deliver and test? At this point, vehicles aren't in the project's critical path because KCMO will "sole source" the procurement (th...
