Re: KC in TV and Movies

That's exactly what these shows are. Everyone is out to make a buck, and if our economy offered any opportunity to turn a profit with affordable housing, we wouldn't be talking about "affordable housing" in the first place. It shouldn't take house flippers and real estate agents luring upwardly mob...

Re: OFFICIAL - Waddell & Reed - 14th & Baltimore

You might be able to add more floors if using lighter materials (mass timber). Focus on the fire plan. With stick framing, stairwells are always concrete the whole way up as are elevator shafts The elevators are on the east end of the building and one stairwell is in the west half Sure, you can mov...

Re: OFFICIAL - Waddell & Reed - 14th & Baltimore

Okay what? KC is a great city. But it just lacks national appeal and it really needs that if it ever wants to really get going. Correct me if I'm wrong but some of the more aggressive developers in KC right now are from Indy or something right? And the city still to this day can't get its suburban ...

Re: Plaza Environs

I think this may be mentioned on other threads, but I can't seem to find it. I am hearing that a proposed project at 45th and main (old Holiday Inn) is picking up steam. BMcD is doing the architecture, and the owner is Americo, same owner as Waddell & Reed. Design is apparently progressing and it l...

Active programming is really not something that I had thought of before. Anything done at BAP needs to be coordinated with the loop cap. I absolutely love the idea of an F&B space that serves passerbys and park goers. The current space at BAP has been shuttered for as long as I've been coming downto...

Biz Journal reporting 9 new advisors bringing $700 million+ AUM joined WR in June. WR sits at about $65 Billion in AUM. 3 of the new advisors were formally affiliated with STL based Edward Jones. With $1.3 trillion in AUM, EJ is not going to notice anything missing.

I think moving to the paywall/subscription concept was the final nail in the coffin. Instead, they should have simply copied all the highly successful free websites that rely on clicks to obtain advertisers.
Didn’t they still trying doing that with sensationalized headlines and stories?

I'm not sure but with such a close relationship, I can see them working with JED on something over there. I'd like to see them get into the mid-rise apartment/condo game.
