Re: Downtown Mission/ The Gateway

New developments in the project, vote on the project approval I guess is now being pushed to early next year. Will it happen then? Who knows anymore. Updated rending attached as well, not sure if anything’s changed in it or not. https://i.imgur.com/3WDG5aT.jpg https://shawneemissionpost.com/2022/11...

Re: OFFICIAL - Lightwell (formerly City Center Square)

Unsure if it’s been mentioned yet, but KCBJ is reporting that Wichita based Professional Engineering Consultants KC based team is going to occupy the 18th floor of Lightwell. They’re moving from their prior office space at 1301 Oak, so not a relocation from outside DT. They’re only reporting 12 full...

Re: No More One-Way Streets in Downtown...

central avenue in the loop will be converted to two-way traffic in the spring. Dave, it’s been a while on this thread, but any chance this idea can be revived? Or a blanket revision of One ways downtown to Two way? This seems like an important endeavor for traffic flow that would come from a downto...

Re: Crown Center: urban disaster, shining star, or in-between

I keep seeing ads for Skies. What is the point of opening it for a month or whatever? Would be nice if that entire hotel were renovated and upgraded back to a higher tier hotel and Skies permanently re-opened. Downtown KC has changed a lot since it closed and has a lot more lights etc on buildings....

I doubt it’ll be what we were first shown for sure, I’d imagine this one manages to squeak through though, albeit will likely take longer than we’d all like

Even most people on this forum were okay with this project which I never understood…there is nothing whatsoever to be excited about with this project. This is a prerequisite for North Loop removal. This is a short term loss, long term gain. Does it suck that we got a bare bones project and can’t sa...

You stop it with that common sense.

Realistically though, you don’t want to be putting in hard infrastructure like that, that’ll require concrete pours, while it’s going into winter. Id imagine they’re pursuing something along those lines for the future though

Article on the new street pick devices meant to help stop sideshows and street racing. Not quite sure how much they will help, but at least something is trying to be done. No way will 12th Street be shut down on game days or even given a road diet. Not with the police HQ there. Not only do they want access, they use 12th to double and triple park. If ball park goes to EV I would like to see 11th as the street to concentrate on. Make it a ped street, interrupted only ...
