Re: KC in TV and Movies

Bargain Mansions is now prime time HGTV and copious shots of KC lifestyles and neighborhoods throughout the shows. Nice. Bastardizing historic homes all over Kansas City. Yeah!!!!! To be fair, a lot of those houses that she picks up are in ROUGH shape, improving this is hardly bastardizing IMO

Re: South Hyde Park

Thanks for the responses all! I did forget to mention that I will most likely be deployed starting in may so she’ll be living there by herself most likely, and she’s more concerned about that. How safe would you all say it is for a woman living on her own in the area?

Hello all! the Wife and I are looking at purchasing a house around the South Hyde Park area, specifically around 40th between Kenwood and Troost area. As this would be our first time ever living in an urban setting (both of us from JoCo), we were trying to get a feel for the area. From areavibes it ...

Hi all! I’ll be in town for a funeral these next two weeks, which is definitely not the circumstances to be coming home to, but if anyone would like to get together and grab a meal or something of the sort, I could definitely use a bit of a pick me up! I look greatly forward to seeing the progress m...

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!

Hopefully we’ll see the approaches added soon. How very Kansas Citian of you to be hopeful for road approaches It means they can get supplies and equipment into the main level easier. Will dramatically speed up progress. Also that’s the exact reason I had said that, the project would pick up I imag...

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!

Another video released onto their (BuildKCI) YouTube channel. This one is aerial drone footage of the entirety of the site, and I have to say, it does an amazing job of truly capturing the scale this new terminal possesses. Once they begin with exterior finishes I imagine shots like this will be tha...

Back to the tower, is it a non-starter now? I was getting genuinely excited for this project.

I haven't heard anything on the people mover in a bit. Wonder where that is?
I remember seeing the interview with Justin Myer about it, he had said no construction would begin on the project until well after new terminal construction completes.

What is the specific argument that justifies rural interests dominating policy in an urbanized country? A specific issue I could recognize is practically any firearm legislation. Most all legislation passed in an effort to restrict access to firearms comes from politicians coming from largely urban...

What, specifically, are the problems with "mob rule" that the electoral college solves? Without the electoral college, much of the center of the United States would be disregarded, as all candidates would have to do is pander to the large metropolitan areas on the coast, as they could easily win wi...

Re: Private Bikes

VanMoof makes nice bikes. If you're thinking of ordering one, make sure to check the standover height on them. They're much larger than you'd expect. I noticed that when my wife and I took a test ride. The X3 seemed fine for me (6’1”), but my wife wouldn’t be able to use an S3 if I got one, as she’...

Well the exterior appears to be the exact same boring cheap precast concrete design and color that is ubiquitous across KC buildings. Very disappointing.
From the renderings I have seen, I think it’s either supposed to be painted or have some type of metal paneling
