Creepy and March is a huge travel month.
Whatever this thing is it is going from initially concerning to very very scary.
The scariest part is the fact that so much of this hype is stemming from media over sensationalization of the event.

United cutting a frequency to SFO in April due to the coronavirus travel lag.
I imagine the first of a few in the near term.

You’ll have to let us know next time you’re going to be down there! Maybe we all could do a KCRag meetup downtown!

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

And, of course, we know that a rancher in - I think it was Wyoming - did try to claim federal land that his family had grazed cattle on for a couple of generations. It went badly for the family in the long run. I’m pretty sure upon further investigation, it was found that the government had illegal...

The lady at Sarausky who commented on the rumor hinted that Microsoft, Lego, coach, White House Black Market, Abercrombie, Hollister, and lush are looking for a way out. There are very few things I’d ever consider myself an expert in, but the complex economics of the sale of legos is one thing that...

Can’t wait to see the ridership numbers from the Super Bowl through the Parade, I imagine they’ll bump it up quite a bit for sure.

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!

Want to see a nice airport? Check out OKC. Nice looks & some interesting amenities. They do something KC should do. Live music. I can attest to that, flew out of there earlier last year heading back to Italy, and I was impressed to see that they didn’t over build when they initially re-did their te...

Total Hotel rooms in 2026 (16,000+) How the hell does Kansas City have more hotel rooms than Seattle Philly Baltimore Montreal Denver Someone mentioned that only certain rating of hotels were considered. I’d imagine FIFA wouldn’t really care about those 40 room motel 6’s and the highway Red Roof In...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Then you have the "parking and traffic is a nightmare" stupidity. We all know there's ample parking, public trans and a traffic study has been and would be done again. Going to the K now isn't a traffic wet dream, so I'm not sure what they're worried about besides not having a billion acre concrete...

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

If we started with BRT, maybe the city could get rid of set backs, and zone for multi family. North oak could be a really strong backbone for the northland but at the moment I think it’s way to low density to have a streetcar. Even if you only ran it from north KC to Englewood, and magically didn’t...

Clay: HOA bridge up Burlington to North Oak, continuing up dedicated ROW to Cookingham Dr, follow Cookingham to KCI. This project I can see definitely jumpstarting a spine of TOD at three major junctures. Vivion Rd intersection, Engelwood Rd intersection, and 72nd St intersection. Very similar to h...

Re: OFFICIAL - Loews Convention Hotel (formerly Hyatt)

I guess so. While I’m not against the overall design, I am disappointed by the lack of nighttime architectural lighting. Even with their light systems on the hotel is a dark mass in front of an otherwise bright skyline. Could we possibly lobby them to add some down the road? Or has that ship sailed?

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

Riders are counted by automated passenger counters installed over every door. They are highly accurate (with slight under-counting) and counts are checked manually by KCATA staff in accordance with FTA regulations.
At what percentage do they undercount? Less than 1% or a little more?

Re: Downtown tower construction boom in 2020?

I think a significant item to really focus on to continue a boom line this is we truly need to lock down a large company with a tower, sure the W&R tower will be a big deal, as well as strata, but if we could get a committed customer that wants a large scale class A tower downtown that would continu...

I think the free bus initiative will be incredibly beneficial for our chances when it comes to the transit aspect. I think with us having a fair bit of time to prove it being feasible will also be helpful to our chances, will it be enough to win the slot though is the real question..

Re: Union Station

Thinking long term, I think 2 Pershing needs to be demolished in whole or part so Union Station's northernmost platform can be reopened. It's ridiculous that such a huge train station has to relegate its Amtrak platform outside, and I don't see that changing unless something major happens. Also, 2 ...
