Re: Riverfront walk 4/24

Thanks for all the pics! Still getting head around where all the pics are. Good for my brain. It really had nothing to get me down that way. Good old missouri river. Time to get out the fishing tackle and get some big catfish😁 It would have been a great day for fishing and I did see someone doing t...

Riverfront walk 4/24

Took a walk along the riverfront front today during lunch break since I wasn't hungry and it looked nice out. Lots of construction with kc current stadium finishing touches, the new bar, streetcar extension, and volleyball courts. It's amazing to me to see the transformation over the last ten years ...

Re: OFFICIAL - Wallstreet Tower (formerly US Bank Tower)

Just curious and maybe you've already answered this but if not... How do you know they used a 40/60 mix? Good question. 1. It's listed in the "certification letter" the HOA sent to the city as the fluid used. 2. The manufacturer, distributor, KCFD, and building staff have all independentl...

It is a shame, was a beautiful building. It would have been the perfect candidate to do something like this

I'm excited about this project and love the idea of all this additional solar energy coming online. Renewables are the way to go long term and hope this project gets fully built out.

Re: TIME TO FREAK OUT AGAIN ABOUT CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT! THE BIG 12 IS DEAD! MAYBE!

I don't think it can be understated just how amazing of a deal Brett Yormark (and his staff) has pulled off in the last year. You just don't see stuff like this in an age where things this big usually take forever to develop. He took a conference barely clinging to life after defections of the top g...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

That Jack Henry building is hideous. Looks like something from the Abnos school of design. I thought maybe it wasn't finished? But the signage is up, suggesting that look is intentional. Grim. A lot wrong with it but those bars on the third floor windows are what really puts it over the top in term...

Re: Liberty Memorial Musuem and Penn Valley Park

not sure if this has been discussed before but I wonder if they'll ever get rid of those two small parking lots east and west of the two halls and make it the same architecture as the rest of the memorial. It really breaks up the continuity and feel of the memorial to have pass through these lots wh...

Wrong!I like bike lanes and use them all the time. We need more of them but they do need to be nicer/safer.
I use bike lanes too those just are terrible and do more harm than good.
What do you propose they should look like?

Re: Bannister Mall/Cerner

A friend is interested in the area -- specifically Oakwood near the Oakwood Country Club -- is that area decent? She understands it is not Johnson County, but still expects reasonable urban levels of safety. I once had a couple of friends in that area but that was very long time ago. It's a quasi-r...

I always hoped they would tear that thing down and build something better suited for a downtown. Oh well
