Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

What % of downtown residents do you think will attend a Royals game downtown. If you want to fill a 35k seat stadium it will need to be 116% x 81 games. (I know, out of towners, conventioners and people working downtown will got too). Personaly it think it will be a wash between the number that wil...

Re: Sprint Center opening day pictures

My parents convinced us to do the pics for the flying people way back in like 2006 or whenever & I would personally love to tear those out myself.

The Greatest Generation are all but gone, & so is the Silent Generation. I see just as many boomers out as young people. They just love blaming millennials for everything, even though the youngest are pretty much above 25 now.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

FWIW, sporting designed their stadium with expansion in mind. They can add 8k seats to the east end of the stadium alone. Here’s a star article from a few years back on it: http://www.kansascity.com/sports/mls/sporting-kc/article137046573.html Much too late to expand. They'll move sooner than later...

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

Love how everyone here unlike everywhere else is certain the Royals are gone but there is only two cities willing to build a baseball stadium big enough for MLB & they're either already getting a team sort of (Montreal) or are likely to get an expansion team if they get anything at all ala Raleigh.

Boston was where I always was able to get a cheap SWA flight to a cheap European flight. Very disappointing.

Tivoli sadly closing. Imagine another Johnny Kaw's will go in there, a movie theater version that only shows Marvel flicks.

Re: Next Mayor 2019

It's strange that Kansas City is inarguably in the best shape it's been in decades and people are like "eff these bums at City Hall". The Star editorial seemed to penalize anyone who had a meaningful role at City Hall in the last 4 years. I thought that was odd as well. They need clicks and so want...

Re: Martini Corner near 31st/Gilham

I am gonna say that Rockafire closes by October. The place is usually dead on a Saturday and the overall atmosphere kind of sucks. Guess they closed in February. Why is that spot so bad? Nothing ever lasts in that building Rockafire was a poor experience. The ambience was nonexistent. A lot of the ...

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed

Was in DC all week & saw scooters all over the place for the big 3 brands there. The biggest issue is teaching people the etiquette of riding these & bicycles on the streets & not the danged sidewalk. There were multiple times where my GF or I would be nearly bowled over by some tourist zooming arou...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

Don't forget the LA Stadium will be open by then. It can have a temporary capacity of up to 100k people. Got to think it will be the front-runner for the final. New LA Stadium was not a part of the bid & can't be added at this point unless they replaced the Rose Bowl with it. The final will be at t...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

This is the final list of teams, they have to submit the bid tomorrow. So if they get the WC, KC would get a game(s). Reminder that the World Cup will have 48 teams by then so easier to spread it out.

It's not just "falling out of favor." It's always been kind of a luxury item and as a millennial, I'm lucky to be able to pay for car repairs. Most can't even fight for single unit homes.
