Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
STL Cardinals will ask the local and/state government for over $500 million to renovate Busch Stadium. No shot they get their second round (after 2006) of state funding package for a stadium whilst KC can't even get it's first one still. You can thank the mayor for the state treating us like their ...

Yeah we need more rowhouse in KC but I wouldn't touch those due to the proximity to the highway. Glad they got built though!

Re: Generic ongoing KCATA thread
Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems like the quality and service of the KCATA bus system has fallen quite a bit since they made it free. I predicted it would happen. Nothing good comes from making a transit system free to use which is why there are pretty much no large high quality, high use tra...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Not to get into that but we do have a vast city footprint with not a lot of density which does strain the ability to plow it all (money and manpower) but yes annoying to continue to hear the same excuse and no real action to make it better.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Bills, Titans, Pirates, Steelers, Mariners, Milwaukee all built stadiums without a vote. Mix of local/state bonds, TDD. Port Authority issuing bonds sure seems likely, not sure the capacity of any of these entities, to akp point.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I'm not saying they were materially the reason but the downtown voting bloc ending up such in the no camp the whole impacting the neighborhood had some impact. I'm just saying overall if a vote goes so badly and then the government finds a way to make it happen anyways without another vote, it typic...

Gonna get ugly if the city does this without a vote after losing the last vote so bad. Better have small business impacted on board

The bartender was at Mean Mule. Supposedly got "pulled into a meeting" about it. seems pretty unreliable but they sounded confident so thought I'd share.

what was the scope of the study? Crossing the RR is one problem but even using industrial is pretty treacherous and I wouldn't recommend anybody walk it currently.

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project
Can't wait for an actual ped connection. That main street bridge is cool as an overlook but sucks for connection. The other option through Columbus park is dangerous and almost unusable. Where is the pedestrian connection going to be? What option do you have from Columbus Park? Walking down Guinott...
