Re: We are getting a new airport!!!

I'm always impressed with the sheer length of that terminal and I'm no size queen.

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!

Well on its way.

To clarify current kci was also designed before any airport security screening was in place and the day it opened a hijacking happened that changed airport security most drastically up until 911.

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!

I think we can all see from the design ours is as bare bones as it gets.

Product of the costs us money fearmongering and the likes of Loar and Hall having way too big of a voice in a regional asset

never been in one but seems like a nice amenity for the neighborhood. I'm more excited about the corner restaurant.

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

Did we do nothing regarding ice mitigation on the wires? Streetcar simply cannot be down longer than buses. This has to improve. Even moreso of expansion happens.

Will the south end have to be even higher than the present bridge to clear the Woodswether viaduct?
Doesn't look like it should have to.

Re: New Broadway Bridge

Doesn't look like much usable land after you factor in RR tracks, interchanges, etc. I have heard nothing on anything like this but maybe a trail network hub?

Re: New Broadway Bridge

If the proposal is anywhere close to accurate, these are the only two buildings that would need to be sacrificed for the central alignment. Sad but two 2 story buildings in an already isolated by highways part of downtown for the greater good? Fine.

I really thought with Commerce banking the north loop and being a lifelong Royals sponsor it was going to end up there but yeah sounds like EsOa (East of Oak...lol?)

Re: New Broadway Bridge

I think we're setting ourselves up for disappointment if we think this will provide better ped access to the south side of the river. Hope I'm wrong.

I’d bet more people than you think would use the bridge to bike to the airport to take advantage of the outer road bicycle loop around the airport.
Agreed and the city needs to embrace that as an amenity vs. posting 'don't bike here" signs.

Re: New Broadway Bridge

I think a bike/ped space just for the airport and harlem are well worth it. I freak out when I see peds on the middle median and it's way too often.

I think the west proposal will die because of the bridge length and clearing the rail lines.
