Re: The Future

I don't believe people are not joining due to onerous application processes. Most folks are voyeurs and just want to know what's going on without any intention of commenting. "Long time listener, first time caller". Some eventually sign up when they have something to say. I believe I fit this descr...

Re: Mark Twain Tower going residential?

Boy do these bring back some memories. I use to go here all the time when it had a Gold's Gym...loved playing racquetball there. What years was the Gold's Gym there? What facilities did it have? I first started going there in 1997 and I believe it closed maybe around 1998. I'm not sure what all was...

Re: Two Light - 14th & Grand

One of my favorite apartment buildings in Denver is One Lincoln Park...sorry I don't know how to add a picture of it, maybe GRID has one from his stockpile of pictures. Anyway, I think something with that kind of design would be a good compliment to the buildings going up now. While I fully agree th...

I just spent a few minutes on your site and like what I've seen so far. It seems to be easy and informative to navigate. I look forward to spending some more time there when I have a moment. Good luck with the site and I'll make sure to let you know when I find something to pick out...liking the Acr...

I don't think very often now. Maybe a couple of times a month.

I know that when it has been opened, it backs the yard up for a while since they have to talk us by the signal that governs the bridge until they get around to fixing it.

Re: Hannibal Bridge

Awesome, I go across that everyday. I can't wait for my 19,000 ton train to fall in! Here is a fun fact...after each time the bridge closes, someone has to go out with a hammer to get the tracks to line back up.

Re: Long-term prognosis of Power and Light District

As someone who has recently moved back to the KC area after being gone for the last few years, I just don't understand the hate. Here is what I see, a downtown that had absolutely nothing to offer for entertainment on the south side of the loop, to now having the best movie theater in town, some nic...

I would also like to add that at no time did I use the "?" when I typed this up in Word. So much for my plan of thinking that you guys wouldn't know how bad my spelling is!

Re: Thoughts on Denver

Well here is my view on Denver. First of all let me say that I have lived in 4 areas of Denver over the last 10 years. They are Lakewood, Denver, Ken Caryl, and Thornton. Each place has had their positives and negatives, however the one thing they have all had in common was how easy it was to walk o...

Re: Bicycle/Pedestrian River Crossing Public Meeting, Oct. 10

So true Grid. I just moved back to KC for the 3rd time in the past 10 years. I truly love this city but the trail system has to be one of the worst in the country, especially on the Missouri side. The first two times that I lived here I was down in the River Market area. It drove me CRAZY that I had...

Re: Hotels downtown

About three weeks ago my wife and I were in town for a job interview. We stayed at the President and our room was $145 for a friday night. With taxes and parking it came to $185. That's about what I expected to pay for a room in a hotel like the President. It was just a normal, although very nice, r...
