Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

The world cup will be a national special security event which means the secret service will lead the security. Fan fests will be very different than in Qatar. They can learn a lot by watching though. The feds will help out a lot though. For sure transit and what it looks like when you have a lot us ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

It's hard to build infrastructure when you don't know where the teams will be.

The biggest thing we need is regional funding, so if you can fix that go at it.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

People need to stop over indexing on the world cup.

Someone make me one of those "don't make me tap the sign again" memes.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

It depends what they want $2 bil for. The stadium isn't going to cost that much, so I'm curious what the rest of the money is for. Depending on how much they get will determine the residential situation. I would also add I think the last few comments are too bearish. They never said they WANT $2 bi...

Re: Urban Living Pet Peeves

How do you guys deal with homeless? I live at 1989 main, at the cgx right there, and I don't want to call any police or shit on them. There is a massive homeless camp. But it's becoming an issue. They vomit and urinate in the sidewalk, and the trash is gross because crossroads has no trash cans. The...

Re: Sporting Kansas City

I wish I could go on a complete tangent on how that photographer and poster had an argument over credit, but in the end they were both right and did the right thing lol. (It was clear fair use, but give credit when you can people)

But yes, yikes.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Yeah it’s getting exhausting. Which is too bad for such a cool project!

I can’t wait to hear more from them though. Most excited I’ve been outside power and light reveal and airport. So many questions though

I would probably bet money that no residential tower that size of one light will open before 2030

FangKC wrote: Mon Nov 21, 2022 12:10 am I can't imagine they complete the stadium by 2026 taking into account the need to also rebuild all the infrastructure in the East Village (likely water and sewer, utilities, sidewalks, curbs) and also likely rebuild/reconfigure the ramps to the highway.
Maybe before the ‘30s.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I think they could easily build the stadium and it just be surrounded by parking lots they never develop, Ftr.

My question is if they come up with any guaranteed financing for this big, massive project they’re pretending to build.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Uhhh. Everyone seems pretty calm. Just a lot of the same questions debated in this thread for years. Obviously going to be a long process and even when there is a real plan it will take years or even over a decade to fully execute. Hope the discussion doesn’t boil your blood too bad. Didn’t mean to...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

So, we’re getting close to the magic beans stage. This includes listening tours where they say how it will remake downtown and connect communities and be the most transformational development ever. Next comes the fake plan, this is where you select a site and get incredible renderings as you put wha...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

My frustration with the $2 billion number is coming to fruition. *sigh* You guys are all better than this. The royals should be better than this but apparently are not. We’re certainly getting a lot more than just a stadium for that price. Infrastructure, streetscape improvements, housing, retail e...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

People made the same argument about Westport (well Westport owners did) when p&l was being built.

Cordish has some very privileged space and they’ll be fine. It would be great to have another developer actually building things downtown.

More people have priority pass than American Express. I like options for everyone, but I know we have limited lounge space here.

I’d prefer the escape lounge, but at least we’ll have one people can pay into.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

No, I just think everyone is super jaded because of how bad the Royals have been for 35 years. A normal team, even small market, can sell out alot seats. I know the industry is going to smaller stadiums and making money from gambling now, but not *that* small to where you're under 30-32k. At that p...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Returning to the letter itself, it’s hard for me to comment at this stage because I care more about location and what surrounds it than the stadium. You’re all fighting over a number, but my concern is the neighborhood. I think it was a strategic mistake to come out with that $2 billion number and n...
