Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

But where will I park? I can already see it now. *Driver gets hammered and smashes into one drunk driving, injuring people* The city: these are far too dangerous to have on the road We’ve already had drivers run into buildings too, we should just go ahead and get rid of those too while we are at it...

Re: OFFICIAL - City Club Apartments (former Midwest Hotel)

Have they given a new date for the first move-ins? I'm one of the first and I've been given a rough estimate of August 15th to 30th with hope that they can move it up. I had signed my lease and everything and they cancelled the date. I'm on the third floor. I think they're going to do staged move i...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

The biggest concern is going to be not having it surrounded by parking lots and be part of an actually urban development. Everyone get ready to fight on this. They must have a hof museum open year around, event space, and hopefully year around restaurants and bars. Royals are out of town? Head to t...

From what I've heard, move ins have begun!

My scheduled move in date is a bit later. But I'll be able to start sharing interior pictures.
Nevermind, delays 😂

It's going to be east village if everything plays out the way it's playing.

They're not dumb enough to announce during covid.

But the royals intend to move downtown.

Re: Cosentino's Grocery downtown

This topic is getting a little racisty for my tastes. Perhaps a moderator could split this conversation into a new thread and allow the ones who wish to focus on this their own place to debate it. I’d love to know what you think has been even a bit racist. Before you make assumptions maybe you need...

Re: Three Light

Places are definitely looking into this. Shared work stations that you can rent to get out of your apartment but also not have to get all of your shit in the car or down the road and still have privacy. I know one place that talked about putting in an interview/podcasting room with proper microphone...

Re: Layoffs at The Star

I think moving to the paywall/subscription concept was the final nail in the coffin. Instead, they should have simply copied all the highly successful free websites that rely on clicks to obtain advertisers. "Highly successful" lol what? Show me one local newspaper that is highly successful. Even t...

That would be a very expensive solution if rue, so I'm guessing it is not.

The city also put toilets around downtown to help.

Re: Sprint Center opening day pictures

That was the worst art project downtown in awhile and it only aged worse with time. Just don't do technology unless you're willing to upgrade it. It's a hard site. No one wants to do fountains because no one wants to pay, but that's obviously the best option. No one wants benches and open squares be...

https://www.kmbc.com/article/questions-remain-about-future-of-kcs-steamboat-arabia-museum/33005171 David Hawley and his dull museum are back to openly pontificate on if they should leave KC. I feel like he does this every 9-12 months? He wants someone to build it for him. It's so out of date and ne...

Is this just a move to take super tif off?

I assume no one has an issue with tif. It's vacant land.

I've been told the same. My problem is with the complete disregard they show to the neighborhood.

These aren't good people. They've been asked multiple times to clean up and refuse to do so.

I feel you on the birds and rats, but I think structure falling onto the ROW is another level.
I hear you and I know what you mean, but this is the second time now? Or third time?

This developer doesn't care and the city doesn't care.
