Re: Three Light

It's amazing to me that Truman Road (facing a freeway trench) will eventually be lined with new buildings from Wyandotte to Oak, and we can't get entire blocks along Grand redeveloped. I hope this might change as the Embassy Suites in the old Fed comes online along with the Wyndham at the Scarritt....

Re: OFFICIAL - East Village

If they were serious about a downtown stadium, the preferred parcel would have been land-banked. 1. I’ve heard from close sources that this is where the new ownership group would like to go. They already have about 50% of the land under their control(City + UMB). 2. I’d rather see this get land ban...

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

From the press conference it sounds like this group will be very open to downtown. Was nice to hear Sherman talk about surrounding urban development too and not just plopping a stadium down somewhere.

The complete ownership group for the royals has some names you'd think would also push for a downtown park including the JE Dunn's, UMB folks,
I wonder if je dunn has thoughts on east village?

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

I wonder if they provided money for the buy and got some equity in the deal and he's their rep, or if it's individual.

Great to crawl over that bar.

The problem with our mayoral system is that most of your power is standing for something and advocating for things. What does he want to do?

So far I've seen no leadership from Lucas. He seems like a classic example of please tell me where my people are going so I can lead them. I still can't even tell what he wants to do?

I'm hopeful that light and landscaping will help some of the more drab parts.

The problem is that the sea of parking will just expand and probably stop future development around the area.

I wish we didn't have to have a monstrosity of a garage, but it is what it is. I hope it's been designed for present and future transit.

It's an irresistible headline for national news, but it's almost impossible for anyone not familiar with Kansas City to understand.

They've lost classifieds to other sites, sports to the athletic, development to cityscene, and the editorial section has no credibility. I agree with Fang and continue to say that the proper way to honor MLK is to raise money to create a proper place that honors not just him but other leaders in Kansas City involved in our city. I'll vote yes.

Re: STL MLS proposal resurrection

It seems a little odd to me that they are putting the practice fields right there. I guess it would be nice for the team, but it seems like a waste of space - something that would be better suited in a more suburban area. If we had any competent leadership at the time, this is what should have been...

I wish they would have them all in Kansas City. It creates an event atmosphere for a game that doesn't mean a whole lot.

But I understand the universities wanting home games.

In a bizzaro world where a company like Google had headquarters here, I always pictured this area to be where you'd locate a Google X headquarters.

In other words, have a company with headquarters downtown and then have a branch separated.

Obviously not realistic for us currently.
