Zipper merge: is it the legal way in MO and KS?

I'm a Northlander and all hell breaks loose when any bridge closes down :D In this case the Broadway Bridge. So there is even more traffic on the approach to the Bond Bridge at the Southbound I-29 and I-35 merge. Southbound I-29 near St. Pius X High School turns from two lanes into one. The majority...

Re: City Walking tour website

I don't know if this is what you had in mind, but when I was in Portland, OR, I went on a walking tour. Here is the website:

Re: Pinoy Cafe (Filipino Food) coming soon to KC!

To be honest, the Kansas City Metro area can't support a straight up Filipino restaurant, yet. First, Filipino cuisine is still not very well known and hasn't hit elite or trendy status yet. I remember when Thai and Viet cuisine was fringe and all of a sudden, they became trendy and cool with the ma...

Giving away tax money when you don't need to give it away.
I mean, what's wrong with the building that doesn't warrant the tax money?

Re: IKEA may be coming to Merriam Village

I don't really care if they decide to go North, but I don't understand how that can be considered an ideal location. Are people really flying into Ikea-KC? Ideal as in IKEA's tend to gravitate close to airports. I don't think actual airport traffic has to do with it. The Denver IKEA is not near the...

Re: IKEA may be coming to Merriam Village

Why don't I like that location? Not sure really...I think the traffic Ikea produces will suck in that area....does Ikea serve package beer? That would be another downside of a KS location. I'm going be honest. I don't like the location because it's in Kansas :D I don't remember seeing alcohol at th...

Line Creek Loudmouth Blog

Anyone read the Line Creek Loudmouth Blog? Pretty interesting infrastructure news and commentary:

Found it by searching for some info about the construction on 64th Street and I-29.

Sushi by Me!! Had it for dinner last night, it's affordable and delicious. Look forward to visiting them many times! Cool! I find it very strange that there wasn't a sushi place in the vicinity of the River Market neighborhood till now,or is there one that I totally missed for 15 years:) The closes...

New sushi place in the River Market. It's in the northwest corner of the main market area between the place that has shawarma :D , Habashi House, I think, and the coffee place.

Re: AWD Car in KC winter weather

Seems like Subaru is still the best fit for me. I don't need a flashy car or all the luxury items more expensive models offer. MPG and price are my top priorities and the Impreza or Legacy will be the two cars I'm going to decide on. The 2012 Impreza gets 36 MPG while the Legacy gets 31 MPG. The Leg...

I miss the "recently updated posts" list that was at the bottom of the page on the last forum. It was easier and faster to see all the recent, trending, and popular posts. Any way to get that back?

Re: Nica's 320

Noticed they have Absinthe coctails.  Has anyone tried one there? Do they serve it using the traditional French method with the dripping ice water on a sugar cube? I ended up going to Nica's 320 around 10pm last night to check out. First, the space is very nice. The front area has a long bar to the...

Re: Zona Rosa parking meter money towards charity and tickets

What is the deal with Zona Rosa parking meters?  Are they parking meters, or are they donation boxes?!  And what's with being fined for not donating?!  http://firstdowntown.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/seinfeld_jerry_240x260_0528200415241.jpg It sounds exactly like a Seinfeld episode!  Kramer realiz...
