Isn’t a big chunk of that airport basically a huge atrium with 3 story high ceilings? I never got dark or dated from it personally.

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

Seems like they’re down on their luck lately. Lost the Spirit merger thing too. I wonder if they were counting on that for financial purposes. I think they probably need to regroup after spirit and AA deals fell though and go back to their core markets. I do think they will try the AA link up again...

TBD if it sticks.
Appears that it didn’t stick. Too bad. Would have been cool to see

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

A bit of a bummer - 4 group stage games, one in the round of 32, and a quarterfinal, along with no USMNT games (in the group stage, at least), but still, we’ll have people here for events for all but the last week of World Cup. I think that’s pretty good and honestly best case I was thinking. Only ...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal

St Louis is supposed to break ground on a new 3 billion dollar 62 gate terminal in 2026. MCI needs to try and ramp things up before that new terminal opens. I mean try and get an international flight, more domestic flights and even get back more regional flights (omaha, wichita, Des moines, springf...

Spirit adding FLL-MCI direct, only for March and April though https://twitter.com/adrianwaltz/status/1748633361613013028 It will be interesting with NK/B6 merger all but dead how that impacts service at MCI. B6 has started to pull back in other markets and have to think the lone JFK flight is on li...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

Air Canada pushed the restart of Toronto back a month to June.

But in better news it’s fun to see all the Super Bowl flights get added. Seems to be a lot of media attention on AA and UA doing flight numbers for Swift and Kelce.

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

Flew on SW nonstop to LGA this morning. Flight attendant mentioned 75 empty seats. Was the same way last month. Selfishly would hate to see it go away but figure SWA has noticed as well. Airlines have to fill slots at LGA. So unless there is another route just doing awesome and it needs more flight...

Another Dig IMO is that the Cayman Islands are not a place people from KC generally travel to unless its a cruise ship stop. The lack of all inclusive will make the island not very attractive to the common traveler in this area. Cayman Islands is definitely a higher income kind of place. Yeah, seem...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

Then there are cities that fall into "single spoke status." That means that an airline serves the spoke from only one or two hubs. AA used to serve KC from MIA, CLT, PHL, NYC, DCA, ORD, DFW, PHX, and LAX -- all of its hubs. NYC is gone (to DL) and if PHL (once daily now), MIA (ditto), and...
