Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I think the save the crossroads did more damage than anything. You already had to overcome the suburban vote so once everyone latched onto "destruction of the crossroads", it was all over. East Village would have won. East Village campaign would have been about creating something, while t...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
From Q: "The people of Kansas City and Jackson County love the Chiefs and the Royals. Today, they rejected plans and processes they found inadequate." Can't say I disagree. Not even sure EV would pass now without a major flip of the script, but think it would have if they had stuck with it...

Re: T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center)
"I can tell you that the average ingress time for T-Mobile arena is at or better than other arenas of similar size and nature across the country." I simply do not believe this but it's not worth typing anymore about. Tmobile is perfect running arena, no improvement needed! Done. This is p...

Re: Downtown Mission/ The Gateway
Mission Gateway has its incentive package canceled by the city and I think they’re still in the court process now. As for Roe and SMP, do you mean Metcalf? Roe/Johnson Drive has a few ramps, but nothing major. Yes, not really cloverleafs. I think it's mostly due to some utilities/infra in the area ...

Tie in polling. https://www.kshb.com/news/local-news/stadium-plan/kshb-41-news-obtains-poll-results-showing-tight-race-in-stadium-sales-tax I have a feeling that if it passes, it'll be narrow. If it fails, it'll be narrow. It won't be a blowout either way. If the measure narrowly fails, it'll proba...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I'll go to my grave that the EV location could have been built out just like EC is proposed and it would have fed the P&L. I've seen people walk a mile to get to a KC Current NWSL game, you can't tell me they wouldn't walk to EV to/from a game. It's water under the bridge at this point. Someday...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
How the hell did we get this far down the line -- including another round of demolition and displacement in EV itself -- before EV was "suddenly" ruled out? The feds don't control land use and there are lots of federal facilities next to more dangerous things. That also doesn't bode well ...

Re: New Riverfront Women's Soccer Stadium
how are most people accessing the stadium since there apparently isn't much parking? park in river market and walk down, uber, or what? I walked from the River Market starting at about 10am at the town of Kansas bridge. There was a solid stream of walkers ahead of me and behind me. The energy and e...

People were really enjoying the walk to the stadium from what I heard through the riverfront. KC finally discovering the joy of a nice walk! I’m proud of the Current for not caving to parking demands and actually making people just figure it out. There’s a lesson to be learned here Lesson I learned...

Re: Restoration of City Control Over KCPD
Realistically, can anything be done to wrest control back, or is the GOP control too overpowering and they’ll be resistant to any small, local government argument because they’re without principles and just looking to kill own the libs? Related, how did St. Louis manage to do it not too long ago?
