Re: OFFICIAL - Strata (H&R Block's 2nd Tower)

Grovestar -- I wish that were the case about loud music downtown! Normalthings -- I didn't know about the One Hundred building, that's a great looking building. Is it the first hi-rise they've done? I think most developers fall short of what some would like to see in community outreach. Hmmm...Grov...

Re: OFFICIAL - Strata (H&R Block's 2nd Tower)

I can understand that frustration but affordable housing will always be needed, high-end, market rate housing not so much. I understand why they would want to put all their focus and effort on getting the expensive new projects up and going while the market allows as opposed to rehabbing an old bui...

All costs that would have been avoided if the city council had listened to what their constituents and specifically those directly affected wanted. followed the law.

Weren't KC and STL the only two cities in the nation? Would be some pretty skewed stats.

Ha! Same thing when I lived underneath some BART tracks in the East Bay.

If on the phone, we'd just pause while the train passed, while the person on the other end wondered what the hell had just happened.

OTOH, if this person researched noise regs before they moved in and figured they could live with them, only to find out that they are not being followed, then that would be on you.

Re: North Kansas City

So I've been in the afternoon once to check out the amaro selection, how much space at the bar? I must have totally missed it. It's a small bar in the back corner of the store, probably 8-10 seats at bar, and then a bar table or two and a lounge area with chairs. To your point, doesn't seem to be w...

Re: St. Louis

Thanks for that timely post, as we just returned and did indeed stay at the Moonrise Hotel on Delmar.

Great strip, reminded me a bit of Mass St. in Lawrence.

I was really impressed with what I saw of St. Louis and look forward to another visit. Forest Park is a gem.

I will be spending a night in St. Louis next week and am completely ignorant of the city, except for how to drive through it.

Looking for a hotel in a walkable area with bars/restaurants.

Where should I stay?

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

I wonder if there is extra funds in the DT streetcar district due to rapidly growing sales tax receipts and property tax value growth? If this extra money can be used for free buses while also keeping the streetcar free and updated, that might make sense, though it seems that money should go back t...
