Re: COVID19

And if you don't think Jared Kushner wasn't hijacking PPE for personal or political gain, you're naive. The full weight of the US federal government could have acquired/manufactured what we needed. They chose not to. Between the botched initial CDC test and this https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-i...

Re: Lamp Post District - Mission, KS

It has a certain retro feel.

Seems like it might have been deliberate to fit in with the adjacent Mission shopping center.

We also can't compare this country to most other countries, even though some people are obsessed with that idea.
Why can’t we compare countries
Because apparently AMERICANS can't be inconvenienced at all, not even to save their economy or the lives and health of their fellow AMERICANS.

https://i.imgur.com/q6nQUAQ.png Would be interested to see the hospitalization rate between this country and the EU. The US has done far more total tests, over 31 million so far and currently 500,000 per day. No kidding. Wish we had media that didn't have a political agenda. Just give us hospitaliz...

Re: COVID19

I think it's hilarious that kids on TikTok wrecked the rally but it's not like it was a significant blow to Trump or his campaign. We all know, just like sports it's really all about the TV ratings and online viewership. He still had at minimum 12 million people watch the rally. That's where you pi...

I’m not sure if enough people went It was the worst of all worlds for Trump, he looked bad taking the chance to increase the spread CV19 among one of his staunchest states and he looked bad because of the poor turnout. Not to mention his fascist threats before the event to violently handle any prot...

Re: Shawnee is in here

Totally agree Shawnee needs more density, but can't say I'm thrilled with that location.

3 block west of Nieman and 2 blocks north of Johnson Drive. Plenty of spots right up front I'd like to see filled first.

I like the overall format of a shape being bracketed by other designs, but I'm not sold on the heart. A bit too on the nose. Are there any other good Kansas City shapes to pick from?

I wish they'd give Johnson Drive the same diet they gave Nieman. Not sure I'd feel comfortable in the parklet as currently configured.

Never one to waste a perfectly good sub, this is a shout out to downtown Shawnee. Lots going on here, Transport Brewing, Servaes Brewing, McLains Bakery just opened and Jill Cockson's (Swordfish Tom's) latest invention, Drastic Measures, is slated to open this summer. Nieman Road has been reconfigur...

Re: COVID19

Not sure it's a good idea to look at national numbers, in the same way it's not a good idea to look at national polling on the election.

With NYC's numbers going down dramatically, national numbers will mask increases in mid-size cities where the backlog of hospital and icu beds will actually happen.

Re: COVID19

Rising cases are also because of rising testing. We are getting close to the 500k threshold that will start to make a difference, assuming we can trace effectively. The key stat to watch is % of positive results. Anything over 5% means you're either not testing enough or you have a problem. Metro is...

KC Police in action on The Plaza. Not a great look, IMO. https://twitter.com/weslyinfinity/status/1267321172309544960 Has any local official responded to this?
