Re: Considering move downtown...need input.
Thanks everyone for your input. After careful consideration and lots of number crunching, I decided to put in an offer for a one-bedroom condo in Quality Hill. After two counter offers, my offer was accepted so, come June, I'll be a downtowner. I'm very excited. The place was a bit more than I had o...

CommunityAmerica Credit Union also holds their own loans and services them in-house. They also process and service loans for several other area credit unions including Mazuma. I'm buying my first home and have been pre-approved with a rate of 5% through CACU. I do all of my banking with CACU and cou...

Considering move downtown...need input.
The time is finally right for me to stop renting and finally take the plunge of buying my first home. I've been looking for about a month now and there are several tempting options available in the 'burbs. The problem is, I'm single, I work too much and don't want to worry about maintenance or a yar...

Re: OFFICIAL: Proposed KCK Casino
I am willing to bet the Oklahoma location will be finished before the KCK location. It will. It's not a new casino though. It's just a re-branding and expansion of the existing Cherokee Casino Resort. http://www.tulsaworld.com/news/article.aspx?articleID=20081114_319_Adea002744 It looks like the KS...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments
The Spring schedules for Southwest were released today. As of March 8th, KC will see one additional daily flight to Albuquerque (2), Baltimore (3) and Las Vegas (5). As a result, Southwest is reducing its number of flights to Oklahoma City from KC from three daily non-stops to two and it will cut se...

Re: KC in TV and Movies
I was surfing around YouTube the other day and stumbled upon a music video from an Australian band called Sneaky Sound System. Their single "Kansas City" was released this summer. It's kinda catchy. Of course, a Wizard of Oz theme is used. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YdJHrCJfAs...

Penn gaming group withdraws Kansas plan, seeks $25 million refund There's no article there for some reason (only a headline). They are withdrawing from their bid for a casino near Pittsburg, KS since they didn't win their bid for the location south of Wichita. I don't believe they submitted a bid f...

Re: New Coaster coming to WOF
Wolds of Fun is a waste. It's only open half the year, sits in the middle of a parking lagoon and the only development it has spurned is a Taco Bell, a super eight and a bunch of industrial buildings. There is absolutely nothing to do up there after a day at the park. No bar scene at all. They need...

Re: New Coaster coming to WOF
For those of you grumbling about wooden coasters, Timber Wolf fell into disrepair in the late 90s and early 00s. Over the last three years the park has put in a lot of time and money re-tracking the ride and giving it some of the TLC it has so desperately needed. You cannot compare a ride on Timber ...

Re: Montreal in May
Niagra is a lot like Branson - you just have to embrace the trashy tourist cheese and have fun with it. That is what I've heard. We do have plans for Maid of the Mist, but other than that we don't know what else we'll do in Niagara. If we get bored, we can always drive back to Toronto. Right now o...

Re: Downtown Mission/ The Gateway
Driving on SM Pkwy last night I noticed a sign for condo (or townhome?) development directly south of Gateway project adjacent to the small bank. Aside from being close to the propsed Gateway, seemed like a strange parcel to build on. Was too dark to read much on the sign - anyone have add'l info...
