Re: Comedy Club?
Sudekis is certainly too busy currently. We tried to bring him in two weekends ago for the Kansas City Improv Festival, but he was too busy to make it (he has made it 4 of the past 5 years). The 4 main theaters for comedy in KC: Kick Comedy Theater (Westport) Comedy City (Westport) The Improv Comedy...

City Market Dog Policy
From their mailing list email this morning: Also, the City Market Park, is NOT an off-leash park. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times! This, according to City of Kansas City Missouri city ordinance Sec.14-33. Dogs running at large prohibited. CID is actively enforcing this. Had me leash my ...

Re: Why Can't the West Bottoms Be Redeveloped....?
Its clear that the West Bottoms are seen as the 'new Crossroads' by many. I think if the KC powers that be want to encourage this, the best thing they could do is subsidize flood insurance for the whole area.

Re: Panhandling Out of Control?
Friend of mine used to hand out canned food like that in DC - until...the panhandlers starting throwing the cans back at her car! This is the midwest. Our homeless are more kind. :) They have never thrown a can back at me here in KC. Then again, I usually ask if they'd like a can of food before ...

Re: Panhandling Out of Control?
Here's what I do, and I certainly don't mind if you copy me. Go buy a grip of canned pasta. The kind with a pop-top lid. Chef Boyardee ravioli is my favorite. Print off a bunch of strips of paper with addresses of homeless resources in KC. There are about 251 of them (thank you Homeless Services...

Re: Market Station apartments, formerly KC Southern Railyard
They claim occupancy is up to about 30% now, as of the Urban Tour. They said 40%, but that didn't jive with the other numbers they said. The raw numbers calculated to be about 30%. As nearby river market resident who would like to know, nobody would happen to have the gate code for the pool there,...

Re: Downtown Hereford House Explosion
Yes, I thought they ditched that a couple years ago and was most recently O'Quigleys. I don't think HH retained any part of the building. Hollywood Room still existed behind Paddy O'Quigleys. It was a joint space between HH and PO'Q. For a couple months, my comedy troupe was doing shows out of t...

As a part of my purchase contract there was an improvem...
