Re: New Chiefs Stadium
To me, Hunt is doing a lot of tiptoeing and being careful with the comments. A new Arrowhead on the east side of KC was never going to be built new at the current TSC. He's appeasing the Royals here I think. His intent was also never to build a revenue generating mixed use complex there similar to w...

Re: OFFICIAL - Performing Arts Center construction
In the current economy, nothing is being built it appears, and stuff that is started has basically come to a halt. It feels like the well is running pretty dry right now. I know there have been several proposals for the site to the west of PAC. We have major events on the way in the next few years. ...

Re: The Midland Lofts (formerly Midland Office Building)
I want to believe DT has several high rises on the way, but so much of this stuff never seems to come to fruition. What percentage of the stock still DT needs renovated that is currently vacant. The old Fed Reserve, Scarritt to name just a couple. I really hope some of this stuff starts happening an...

I thought that big outlet mall in St Louis was basically closed too. Are you talking about the one off 370? St. Louis Mills (the one off 370) closed down a while ago. Only Cabelas is still open there. Chesterfield had two outlet malls open within months of each other (Taubman and Premium Outlets). ...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
I'm in the 9AM timeslot. I am looking much forward to getting my daily allotment of steps in at the terminal. I hope we get to have access to both levels and see all the cool features, and we are not stuck to having to be guided around by someone if we just want to explore.

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
Heard an ad tonight on 810 that confirmed the open date of the airport to be February 28th. Unless something happens in the next 35 days, it's the worst kept secret out there! Anyone know if they will be taking parts of the tarazzo floors from terminals B and C like they did terminal A?

I signed up for the 9am slot. Wonder where they're going to want us to park?

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
So how soon before we see McDonald's and other chains make their way into the terminals? I'm all for the local fare but if there are surveys I'm almost sure that's one of the things that people are going to mark as a needs improvement.

I just wish we think big where ever possible. With the streetcar there to me the density alone is important. Higher and higher!!!

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
Post on Twitter said that SWA told someone that the new terminal will open Feb. 28. That's a few days sooner than what had originally been stated. You have to wonder if the new open date gets earlier and earlier as more of the new terminal is completed. Apparently not much is being fixed at the curr...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
Has anyone heard anything about volunteer opportunities/signups for stress-testing the new terminal? I'd have to imagine we're very close to the point where they'd want to start testing various aspects of the new terminal. I seriously want to be a tester. I would take vacation days off work to do i...

Re: KU/KCK <-----> TSC East/West Transit
I completely agree with you about using 43rd St. to 40 Hwy from TSC east. Would be transformational. Stop at 43rd and Sterling, then 40 at Noland, Lee's Summit Rd, Bass Pro, Valley View Pkwy, Little Blue Pkwy, Woods Chapel with East terminus at 7 Highway.

Re: Capping the Loop
Anyone else hear the full 7-blocks is being considered? Let's just do the North Loop same time! Person very involved told me they're considering doing the full 7 blocks which would be great! I'm sure that could mean they're having that part quoted out as a additional option. Not my money, but let's...

Re: Origin Riverfront Hotel
Short term pain, long term gain. I assume the city wants to really spruce this area up for FIFA. This indeed did win incentives. With a summer groundbreaking, the project could open in winter 2023, Port KC officials said earlier this year. Although the article notes it could break ground later this ...

Re: 500 foot mixed use tower proposed for downtown
Wonder how much more is afoot in the underlings of the development world of downtown KC?? Gotta think that 2026 and the world stage has a lot to do with all of this. With the airport nearing completion, lots of people to keep the building going! That's what I initially posted in the 1650 Broadway th...

Re: 12th and Broadway site: RFP for mixed use
I just hope it's a good proposal from KCS. Not a boring one. Can't be a "at least it's something" proposal. If it is and there are better options, shame on the city should it be selected. Could there be a waiver of the 130' height limit?

That is my concern too. I am all for the local restaurant faire, but Starbucks, McDonalds are standard faire that people know and recognize. Dunkin is too but Starbucks is a go to for so many. I hope it succeeds, but I fear that we're going to lose some of these choices. It has to be a balanced mix ...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
We have all the damn sports architecture firms here, one or a consortium of them have to be able to come up with a way to renovate Arrowhead. If it stays there a dome is a must. I just think it's probably not the best business decision for the Hunt family. The area all around TSC is run down. How ca...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
If the terminals were in good shape, then they could have been fixed. I thought I had heard that some of the steel and concrete from the exterior was in really poor shape due to all the chemicals used for deicing and that is why the decision was made to build new rather than remodel and build. I kno...
