Re: OFFICIAL - Reverb (1800 Walnut)
It’s not unreasonable to believe that amenities aren’t always needed and not having them can drive activity in the neighborhood, however it is clear at this price point that is not the case in Kansas City. There are plenty of properties without amenities in downtown but none that expensive. It just ...

Re: Inclusionary Zoning
Lucas, this ordinance, etc have already had a big negative impact on our development and job attraction prospects. Saw a note this morning that a $150 million, 400 unit downtown apartment project that was in the works has been cancelled by the national developer. Port KC's broker announced that a $...

Isn’t amc currently one of the meme stocks? Yes, AMC made some important announcement earlier in the week and then the meme thing only helped them. Debt holders started converting debt to equity and AMC is now exploring additional equity sales at these inflated prices to raise cash to pay back more...

Re: Four Light
A fairly reliable source told me that 5 light could happen before 4 light because it will have more affordable apartments on a smaller foot print. But the great news is 5 light would replace this nothing retail building at 14th & main. The hotel president will have a worthy neighbor and this inters...

Re: Politics
I don’t think lifted trucks will go away either until electric has a suitable replacement. What I could see them doing is taxing trucks with low gas mileage heavier, and handing out tax breaks or allowing people to write it off if they use it for work. My guess is we will probably see fewer cars lik...

Re: Politics
I think GM, Chrysler, Ford are going to slowly move their cars to all-electric platforms. By 2030, I expect most of their lineups will include stuff like that. Hybrid versions of the cars will also become much more widespread. However, for everyone to switch to all electric cars, the batteries need...

My guess is the tax will come to include the negative externality of pollution. So it won’t go away but will be more expensive.

Re: Politics
If oil prices go up people will be more likely to switch away from combustion vehicles, especially now that there is a doable charging network for many cities and electric vehicles to choose from. Let’s focus on infrastructure for the coming century.

Re: Why Can't the West Bottoms Be Redeveloped....?
How much density would they need to expand the streetcar through quality hill to west bottoms Not sure if a question of density versus needing a regional plan in place. No way a TDD would work to get to KCK either. Next Rail estimated $71m for starter line down 12th street viaduct w low probability...
