Re: Politics

I've never acknowledged my race on here that I'm aware of and does that make a difference in you respecting my opinion or not? Would you treat me differently if you knew I were a black person who tries to remain in the middle but tends to lean to the right? Why should I be forced to reveal my race ...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront

I just don't see either one of those happening to the degree it needs to. The casino might get some minor upgrades and if lucky a small hotel in ten years. That should be KC's primary destination casino, especially for out of towners. A whole new casino needs to be built along with a large high end...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront

Didn't think about that. If you catch the streetcar on the south river market stop, it will go to riverfront and back. I honestly don't get the extension. The river front has very little room for major development and the development that is going in seems to be suburban style stuff that is way to ...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront

I think this is the biggest chance to improve upon. Let's NOT make it suburban style stuff. Not that I want to make this a new affordable housing bloc but we have a chance to create a lot of good housing here with higher density with this rail investment. That's been the big point on KC urban twitt...

I really want to see union hill focus on retail and maybe a little bodega, as it is the neighborhood feels a bit disjointed.

Cosentino's opened in downtown KCMO in 2009. Mark this date for downtown KCK!

Re: Old KCPS HQ - 12th & McGee

They did look at activation for things like a Food Truck park but the numbers didn't work there. Parking lot was the only way and even now, the parking lot scenario barely breaks even. The mural that people wanted saved is saved and is in storage. If they can’t make it work then don’t sell it to them

Re: Old KCPS HQ - 12th & McGee

Watching the Zoom meeting regarding this parcel. It will be a 164 space parking lot but they don't know how long "temporary" is temporary. Josh Boehm asked is they would be okay with a time limit on the parking lot, and they said "We can do a time limit as long as we can extend it whenever we want”...

Hope we don't have any more posts about Biden's "dementia".

Thanks in advance.

Re: Misc Crossroads News

I don't see it doing well on that side of crossroads, it's just so sleepy on the westside of Crossroads vs East Crossroads I think it’s probably closer to the population center of the area than anything on the east side. Definitely more population and then throw in the westside, no brainer. I also ...

There is a new application on Compass for rezoning 506 E 31st Street (Velvet Freeze) to Urban Redevelopment. There are no real details or plans on Compass. The only hint might be that Clockwork Architecture is involved. https://compasskc.kcmo.org/EnerGov_Prod/SelfService#/plan/362c7537-fe2e-497d-be...

Re: Politics

Took a few days to reflect on this before commenting because unlike what was mentioned, I do take politics very seriously which is why I get heated. As someone struggling to decide what to do with my vote, everything factors into that decision. I have many friends and family members who are Trump s...

Re: Old KCPS HQ - 12th & McGee

So what is the Ideal building height? Two tall you have the crush of New York, too short you can't support public transportation. If all of downtown was covered in building where would you want the average height to be? 6-7 stories, like a big swath of Paris, feels right to me. San Francisco seams ...

I have no desire for 4th to reconnect to Delaware. I'd prefer Delaware close TBH.
Yes! Close Delaware turn the street parking into sidewalk cafe space. Then push vehicle traffic down one way reconnected main. Will still need local traffic though
