Strawberry Hill NIMBYs. They got organized to help organize opposition to the Woodside Village Rosedale project. A bit backwards considering they live miles away.

Re: Downtown Buildings with Activity
That’s good to see. I hope someone fixes up the corner building a bit. Would be nice to get some storefronts restored, although that might already be residential.

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
With Clark Hunt saying he talked to John Sherman and the two teams are going their separate ways on stadium efforts, and the fact Hunt said a new stadium (open air or domed) is being considered, it'll be interesting to see what happens. He remains open to Kansas as an option. Things are still early,...

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project
Do you know where the 2 acres will come from? Will it involve removal of the riprap slope down to the river? Jon Stephens clarified what's being explored. Sounds like that slope to the river will be reimagined. https://x.com/RockhillStrat/status/1783937125357850822 https://x.com/RockhillStrat/statu...

Re: Downtown KCK
Side note - thoughts on why Strawberry Hill hasn't really taken off yet? It's close to DTKC, has a nice collection of restaurants and bars (albeit not high-end), interesting views and history. Housing stock just too old/small? KCK decay/reputation gets in the way? Is crime an issue? Often had these...

Solid. If you can get this, the Reardon Center redevelopnent rolling, the KCKCC going, and the renovation of that building at 6th and Minnesota underway, Downtown KCK will actually start to get better.

The Midland Lofts website says 53 apartments are available of the 135 being built. Already 60% leased if that's the case. Could they open with a 90%+ occupancy number?

Re: Hospital Hill activity
I wonder if a stipulation in the RFP is that this project must be completed within a certain number of years. I recall 12th and Broadway’s stipulation was that it must commence after Barney Allis Plaza is rebuilt. It wouldn’t surprise me if Block and Riverstone advance their plans before next spring.

This makes a good deal of sense. It'll be a race against the clock, but it can be done.

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project
These are only renderings and plans are subject to change, but let’s take a moment to appreciate the vision. This is very dense and increases the density of the Berkley Riverfront significantly from the initial master plan. Getting the 400+ residential units, 10+ restaurants, and 2+ acres of park en...

In a move that surprises no one, and should hurt KCTenants unless they give him the boot, Hartzell has come out as a Marxist.

Brightline West is breaking ground next week. Connecting Las Vegas to Rancho Cucamonga (with a connection to Los Angeles via MetroLink). Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I think the design concept the Royals were riding with was meant to honor the brick buildings of the Crossroads while being more moderm, which makes sense. You don't, and shouldn't, want to build a faux-historic stadium. At the same time, you don't want to completely run the oppositie direction and ...
