Re: OFFICIAL - Grand Place (former KC Star building)

I think a Food Hall/Court at Grand Place will be good for the neighborhood. Forget about the Scientologists. The surrounding neighborhood has seen quite the increase in apartments in the past few years (Reverb, City Club, and Artistry being the closest) and this is expected to continue. Not to menti...

This is what that building looked like in 1940. The photo is showing the south wall and looking west towards Central from 19th Street.

Re: Politics

Not changing the topic, but how's everyone feeling about the race? Seems like it's getting tighter and many of the swing states are in or close to being within the margin of error. It's starting to feel like this is going to be a real nail bitter. I'd love to have a election night watch party, but ...

Some pictures of the courtyard under construction.

Understand the design choice isn't for everyone. I'll take pictures of the rooftop and common area when it's not rainy and gross.
It looks fine to me even though it is still under construction.

Re: Hyperloop between KC and STL

The blame game is strong with this one.

I'm honestly not disappointed. It's crazy expensive and it's unproven technology. We need to focus and invest in our passenger rail service here before we even consider a tube.

This came out well. I wonder what occupancy is right now since some of the apartments are open.

Glad to see this one underway. The more residential units around the River Market and along the Streetcar route, the better.

Re: OFFICIAL - Waddell & Reed - 14th & Baltimore

I'm interested to know why the middle section along 14th has thin floors like that but the others are thick. I guess it doesn't matter much, but it's interesting to me.

Re: Muehlebach Hotel / KC Club Project

The site of the 13th and Wyandotte office building is now parking for the hotel, and all the construction fencing is gone. Not a great sign https://i.imgur.com/kct5iVh.jpg I'm not too concerned about this. Most developers who proposed office space are probably waiting to see what the demand is like...

Veterans Community Project St. Louis

Today, Mayor Lyda Krewson, Jason Kander, Mayor Quinton Lucas, and others dedicated the land that will soon be home to the Veterans Community Project St. Louis Tiny Home Village. The goal is to house out homeless veterans and give them a place to seek care and be part of the community again. In addit...

Re: OFFICIAL - Waddell & Reed - 14th & Baltimore

JPM has plans to move most of their back and middle office employees out of Manhattan. This includes plans to sell of some of their NYC towers. suburban Columbus Ohio and Plano Texas have been their two big satellite offices. St. Louis made an active pitch to JP Morgan & Chase Co. to get those jobs...

Re: OFFICIAL - Waddell & Reed - 14th & Baltimore

what does that mean for the project. obviously they have to complete the building but do they have to occupy? I imagine that if JP Morgan does buy Waddell and Reed that they'll still move into this building. JP Morgan, before coronavirus hit, was looking to move some operations outside of NYC, so i...

Re: Troost developments

Hopefully the green/open space turns out to be something akin to a courtyard that is a shared amenity with an apartment development. I just noticed this https://elevatemanheim.com/ website today. It is from Elevate Design + Build, which I don't think is related to Elevate Property Advisers (who is d...

Re: OFFICIAL - Reverb (1800 Walnut)

I saw that Reverb posted, to their Instagram story, that there is a pink strip light up the flat portion of the building. Can anyone perhaps swing by in the evening sometime and see if it's still there? I think it's a missed opportunity that they didn't do it on the stepped side. I see this as being...
