Crown Center is applying for two KC programs to help improve public areas and renovate the Westin and Sheraton. "Crown Center officials are applying for two City of Kansas City programs that would improve Crown Center public areas and enable renovations at the Westin and Sheraton hotels, allowi...

Re: OFFICIAL - City Club Apartments (former Midwest Hotel)

For a club like that, you need to make sure you have proper transportation; A stretch hummer limo that blocks the streetcar, has external speakers blasting at pedestrians, and a laser light show on its roof that shines into adjacent apartment and condo windows is key to your clubs short lifespan!

Agree on the beer, it's fantastic. Haven't tried the food yet but I'm anxious to give that a shot. Have been very impressed with the bartenders and their attentiveness as well.

I wonder if people complained when the sight-lines were obstructed for the New York Life Building? http://catholickey.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/0513_NewYorkLifeBuilding.jpg But can we talk more about the "Ladie's Entrance" behind the Hotel Cosby? What's the scoop on that? Was it comm...

A visitor post on their FB on 10/8 asked why they cut the evening hours....so if they did they may have already given up? Too bad, I do find it very hard to get there when they're open.

Re: OFFICIAL - Fairfax Lofts/Hotel Indigo (former Brookfield Building)

I was trying to figure out what those elongated hexagon cut-outs were for. Looks like it was just a flat ornamentation piece, but maybe it stuck out too far for the shitty paneling to cover it. You can sort of see in these two pics: http://www.kchistory.org/cdm4/item_viewer.php?CISOROOT=/Montgomery&...

Re: Why Can't the West Bottoms Be Redeveloped....?

Also, Stockyard Brewery doesn't have much in the way of food, but there was a note on their FB page that they were cool with BYOBurger. I heard (probably somewhere in this thread) that Voltaire was going to eventually do their kitchen. Which would be great. I had gone down there on Monday intending...

Re: Rockhill Grille

Went for lunch today. Very nice finishes, I had heard that brass is making a comeback, and they have integrated it nicely. Not too much to make you think you've gone back to the 80s, thankfully. I ordered a burger (I know, boring but it sounded good) and my companion ordered the grilled cheese. The ...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

RE: Plaza Theater - I've always thought that space would make a great small performing arts venue, and as such would add some much needed cultural appeal to the Plaza proper. Does anyone know how much of the auditorium interior remains? In my youth a buddy of mine and I got in where the old theater...

I had the "carbonara" dish Monday, it was tasty and I'd order it again. Our waitress was shakey and shy and had some social anxiety. I was a little concerned she was going to drop a pitcher of water on our lap. She didn't, thankfully. Cool space, I like what they did with it. Excited to go...

Who switches the tracks? Is it something the Streetcar operator controlls? Wondering if he/she switched it too late after the car was underway or if it was a malfunction of the switch mechanism....or as Facebook comments suggested, JoCo saboteurs lol

Dave - Just curious, how are the riderships calculated? Are these very rough estimates or are there sensors that know when a person has walked through the door to board the car?

Re: Liquor License Changes

I saw an explanation on FB from someone I can't remember (not friends with them but someone I am friends with commented on it causing it to show up in my feed). From what I understand, and I could very well have this wrong, it is supposed to prevent a majority owner of land in an area from unfairly ...

And already a coworker is complaining about the development bringing too much traffic and wondering how hard it will be getting in/out of that parking garage. SMH.
