Re: OFFICIAL - Main Street Streetcar Extension
if parking doesn't fit it should get a curb bump-out with a wider sidewalk, grass, or a place to plant flowers. No more paint stripes and bollards!

Has the stone front come down yet?
If they are going to take it to the dump, I want to get some pieces.

Re: Westport
Westport Café is the right vibe for Westport. It's also one of my favorite restaurants. That along with 303 and the 'French Quarter' places on Main are all good 'grown-up' places to have in Westport. Seems like there used to be more shopping, wish Ale House could go back to being a music store. The ...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)
Probably because we don't have enough development to discuss unfortunately.
Ya know, because of those damn communists at KC Tenants and those new liberal energy codes KCMO adopted and...oh wait...
just kidding!

Could be a badass perch for the Royals Stadium. Access would not be too easy tho.

Those expansive man-made lakes never do much for me. They smell bad sometimes. Yes, seems very dated.

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
At this point, I think the Chiefs are better off in KS. I have conceeded that there is no stopping the continued migration of KC's economy and culture to the KS side. What 'culture' is moving to Kansas from the Missouri side? I don't think we have lost any cultural institutions, artist, or anything...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Most people I know in Midtown voted NO. We all want a stadium downtown, we just don't want it in the Crossroads. The East Village still makes the most sense. Like KC_Jawhawk said, that area may be desolate now, but the stadium could change that. We don't always have to locate new things inside areas...

Re: Midtown Area Apartment Boom
The Carmen Building was nominated to the City's Historic Register at Friday's Historic Preservation Commission meeting. It goes to city council next. The owner of the property claimed they want to build a 'very nice' 15-story apartment building on the site. Developer is from Lenexa. Said something a...

Anyway back to Austin, I was just saying that policies such as ending minimum parking requirements, eliminating single-family zoning and allowing up to three homes on each residential lot have helped encourage development which resulted in a small decrease in housing costs. I don't see either of th...

Re: Why is the Crossroads an “Arts” District?
One major thing is the PIEA that is in place to support any arts-related business district. https://kccrossroads.org/crossroads-arts-piea/ "The Crossroads Arts PIEA is a tax abatement program in the Crossroads Arts District specifically designed for properties with arts and cultural uses, inclu...

Re: OFFICIAL - Loews Convention Hotel (formerly Hyatt)
travis and patrick opening a steakhouse on the ground level facing Baltimore and soon to be cap - 1587 Prime Hope they do OK. Seems to be kind of a saturated market in KC. It will compete directly with the place in the P&L District. I feel like our high end (expense check) steakhouse market may...

Re: Parade Park
Well, that's uninspiring. Appreciate the density, but the massing and acres of surface parking are rough for creating a neighborhood. At least the buildings front the street with parking 'hidden' within the block. What do you expect? Structured parking? That would be way too expensive for this type...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
What if the new Royals stadium included a large art gallery that faced Grand? It could be programmed and open all year. Some of the art could be sports related, but I think it would be cool to be more diverse than that. Why not create a space for Green Dirt and maybe some of the other displaced busi...

Re: wtf is happening to w. 39th?!
I feel as though many of the SFHs around 39th could use replacing. I’m not saying a new 2+5 but at least some walk ups or row homes. The housing stock is not always in great shape. similar to north plaza in that regard Leave my beautiful neighborhood alone! I don't see what needs replacing. I am re...
