Re: Black leaders seek to rename Paseo to MLK Blvd

The Paseo's name connects to a Mexican civil war that overthrew a group that dated back to colonial Spain. So we basically renamed a street that is about the public gaining more freedom to one that is about the public gaining more freedom. Meanwhile the historic black-white dividing line, Troost, i...

And place under the center shelters during weekdays. NYC bought 100s of thousands of these for pocket parks. They are so cheap the...

Boulevard does not accept tips and pays there employees a living wage. My friends honestly hate working for tips in their situation, because of what you stated above ^^

Re: Film Row building threatened with demolition

That is a very common thing at bier station. I frequent bier station because my friends all bar tend there. However I am not one to talk, i get friends and family discount and always tip way more than my tab. However i do notice people tipping next to nothing all the time. I'm sure we could have a y...

Re: Generic ongoing KCATA thread

I just got a new job downtown and am so excited to not rely on my car for my job! Can't wait to take the bus from Hospital Hill to Union Station (During bad weather) and take the streetcar to work. I can only hope we get free fare....This would be a huge incentive for me to take the buss everywhere!

Re: Attention regional businesses

I think we'll find it much easier at first to attract Apple and Microsoft, etc downtown before our own hometown firms. Likely the case. And DT orgs should pursue them as well as other IT service companies like IBM/HP/Cisco, etc that tend to have fairly small local offices under 100. IBM used to be ...

Re: Bringing Conventions to Kansas City

Up to Date on NPR had a segment yesterday talking with the heads of the convention bureau and Visit KC. They mentioned that they continue to bid on sports events, including large-scale ones like this, and hope to be on the rotation more often. The Loew's hotel, they mentioned, along with additional...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

https://kccrossroads.org/explore/arts/ Those are just CCA members that self-identify as galleries. There is no comprehensive list, which is why I'm so baffled that people think they have an accurate count or that it has substantially changed. There are NEW galleries that didn't exist 10 years ago (...
