Re: New Restaurants/Other Businesses in Northland
Costco coming but not to where you think. I don't post here much anymore, but it's always a good read. Except for pretty much every one of your posts. Holy hell, do you just smack random keys without concern for how words may or may not look once they've landed onto the screen? I honestly don't und...

Re: Lees Summit Update
Does anyone know where the new Ulta Beauty will be located? I've been seeing recruitment ads show up for a new Lee's Summit location.

Re: Liberty Triangle
I believe it (Hooters) will be located in the building going up near US Bank & Culvers, the one mentioned as as Multi-Tenant building housing Jimmy Johns...*If it is indeed coming to Liberty*. The IHOP is going near Lowes & Texas Roadhouse, on the other side of 152 hwy. Seems like the enti...

Re: Trails
I thought if you owned a bike, you were required by law to wait until dusk, then drive your bicycle (strapped to your car, of course) to the downtown airport, throw on some dark clothes, then proceed to ride in the opposite direction of traffic.

Did you vote for Alvin Brooks? "... Alvin Brooks emerged as a true leader in Kansas City's political scene and moved beyond petty civic bickering or the racially polarized voting districts that have marked this town's history as he advocated for human rights." http://www.tonyskansascity.c...

Re: Liberty Triangle
Any word on what building that's going to be, then? Also, on Fuddruckers, why would they build one in such close proximity to a Red Robin and a 5 Guys? (and Culvers for that matter) Seems like the burger market's pretty saturated. I've never been a big fan of Fuddruckers, though. I'd much, much r...

I see the sign up for a Tasty Thai opening up in the strip mall that contains Five Guys. This is, by far, the most exciting restaurant to be built in the triangle. I eat at the one off of Prairie View Road about once a week, and try to explain to people just how awesome the place is.

Place to watch the Pacquaio/Cotto fight?
Buffalo Wild Wings sent me an email this morning that said, "Come join us for the fight!" So I called, and "the fight" is apparently some UFC thing, and they won't be showing boxing. I've gone to Ameristar before and caught boxing in their sports bar, but remember it being prett...

(Not that I actually like them, but that they'd be a new chain to the area)
Green sauce FTW.

Heard a lot of people are pretty pissed about the picture quality on the new Instant Watcher that uses Silverlight.
I buy rather than rent, so I don't subscribe to Netflix.

Re: Trains blowing their horns at 2:30 AM
Pretty cool that there are multiple people who work for the railroad on here... I assumed that it was all due to regulation, and level crossings, and whatnot, but it doesn't make the noise any less annoying at all hours of the night. :) I might be wrong, but I believe the closest level crossing to m...

Trains blowing their horns at 2:30 AM
I realize this isn't along the lines of people-movers as with most of the threads here, but damnit, I'm sick of it. It's 2:30 in the fucking morning, and I can't fathom any reason these assholes need to be blowing their horns. I have half a mind to find out who's operating the thing, pulling my car...

Re: Kansas City Officially Has A New Mayor - Mark Funkhouser
o.k. what's happening. i want to know. It's a political war, with race as the pawns. It's being played from both sides, but much more delicately from one than the other, because one has the squeakier wheels as constituents. In politics, it's all about pandering to the ones who will get you there ...
