Re: Widening I-70

I understand the support on here for rail but lets' be honest, vast majority of people in KC and STL have no interest in using rail between the two cities. I would utilize for a fun family trip but that's about it. That’s because it runs once a day… I don’t know……. My anecdotal evidence is that mos...

Re: Sky and Cordish $253M project

I'm surprised Cordish would do this before Four Light or whatever because I thought the towers in the original plan were already approved for incentives. The Light buildings all got basically free parking structures which are like 20 million each or something like that. Are they going to get anywher...

Sex toys, fireworks and Jesus. You know when cross into Missouri! Most midwest states have one or maybe two of the three, but MO has them all! Plus MO has more billboards than most states.

Re: Widening I-70

It's not just semis. Hell big trucks are hardly a problem at all compared to how non truckers drive. I have to use the damn truck lanes on the right to pass fucking idiots in cars that are driving in the fast lanes slower than the trucks up hills. Till American police start enforcing basic lane etiq...

Re: Widening I-70

I don't know why giving a massive public subsidy to car commuters gets anyone excited on this board. I70 has some dangerous design elements completely separate from the number of lanes. I fully support remedying them. But the city does not need one more lane mile of limited access highway. I mean h...

This is awesome. It looks like the not only added lighting to the county courthouse, but redid the lighting on City Hall? Looks great.

Re: Widening I-70

I-70 is not even six lanes all the way through Blue Springs. I mean it should be six lanes from Route 7 in Blue Springs to Odessa or at the very least Grain Valley before even thinking about widening it across the state. Same with I-35 in the Northland. It's silly that it's only 2 lanes each way fro...

The balcony issue cannot be liability unless it is due to maintenance issues. The balconies are designed to be functional and were. Need to start a petition to shame Tower properties if nothing else.

Re: Crown Center: urban disaster, shining star, or in-between

Yeah Westin needs a restoration/renovation. The skylight and trusses above the garden are really dirty/rusty. There is a path through the cliff garden but people aren't allowed on it. It's also really disappointing that the room's balconies are not accessible. The access issues may be due to liabil...

Re: Crown Center: urban disaster, shining star, or in-between

It would be nice if it did rotate so you can see the entire city. Would kind of suck to be stuck facing the east. But even that view is pretty cool at night since you are so high up. I hope they open it regardless. Mainly, I just hope they renovate the tower back into a higher tier flag. It's worthy...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

^every inch of their downtown? This is freaking Main Street. Most of the rest of downtown is always dead....compared to most other major cities. Downtown KC is just a very quiet place. It's a little better than it used to be on evenings and weekends because people live there now, but daytime is abou...

Re: Crown Center: urban disaster, shining star, or in-between

I keep seeing ads for Skies. What is the point of opening it for a month or whatever? Would be nice if that entire hotel were renovated and upgraded back to a higher tier hotel and Skies permanently re-opened. Downtown KC has changed a lot since it closed and has a lot more lights etc on buildings. ...

Oh and trust me. Even post covid, Downtown DC is VERY VERY busy compared to any part of KC. Not even comparable haha. Come on. Don't go there.

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

Cool shot, but people in KC will never admit that the city probably has the least amount of traffic (on surface streets) and pedestrians of any mid-large city in the country. That's just from my experience. Downtown KC is a VERY quiet place. It just is. I know it has its busy times when venues are ...

What the hell is up with that giant open lot across Main from the American Century towers? They tore down the hotel and now it's just vacant. So many large vacant lots in the Plaza area now. I hope the streetcar gets Main Street developed in that area.

Re: OFFICIAL - Buck O'Neil Bridge

I'm very much for lowering grade on HWY 9 and connecting the East & West sides of RIvermakret/Columbus Park. I liked the renderings they have shown on that. I'm also a big fan of removing the North Loop as well, or doing something different with it. However I'm not 100% sure how that will work ...

Re: OFFICIAL - Buck O'Neil Bridge

If north loop changes and bringing down 9 way isn't "something" man I don't know what could be. Those are huge for the downtown neighborhoods. Yes more than how fast people zip around downtown if they don't want to be going downtown. There was nothing romantic about coming across the buck...
