Re: Best Local Trails

The wife and I have enjoyed the Little Blue Trace Trail quite a bit. It's very conveniently located for us and long enough we can choose different sections to shake things up a little bit.

KC Curling Club

The KC Curling Club has announced plans to have a dedicated curling facility open by September. New facility will be in Blue Springs, just off the Woods Chapel Rd exit. They have been playing at the Line Creek Ice Arena up north for several years. https://kccurling.com/dedicated-ice https://kccurlin...

Re: Do you have or plan to get Google Fiber?

I have normal level xfinity internet, and have not experienced any real problems with YoutubeTV in the year I have had it. I did previously have problems with stuttering when I would Cast from say the FoxSports app, or NBC app to my Google ChromeCast but those have seemingly disappeared as well.

Yes. 2 trains a day would be great but I dont think it would look like SW chief. It would be more like the River Runner
I still think that's definitely preferable over driving or plane.

Re: Missouri Amtrak Service

Some friends and I took the Southwest Chief to Chicago a few weeks ago for a conference. We are all semi-frequent users of the River Runner, but had never used the Chicago service yet. I have to say, we all agreed afterwards that it was by far the most enjoyable way to get to Chicago. None of the st...

When is MLS going to put a team in Denver?
The Rapids are a charter member of MLS, unless I'm just totally missing sarcasm.

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

I recently heard something along the lines of "economic impact on host cities is in the billions". Is this true? Probably for all host cities in aggregate. Certainly not for a single host city. It isn't a local team (unless the USA draws your city), so you could potentially have 40 to 60k or more p...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

Is the plan to stick with three car length trains or go longer? Or is that further down the road?

Not for long! Bye Kansas!
Iowa State, surprisingly, always seems to be the team that really packs them in.

Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!

League Average attendance is just under 6k a game http://theahl.com/ahl-teams-establish-all-time-attendance-record http://www.hockeydb.com/nhl-attendance/att_graph_season.php?lid=AHL1941&sid=2016 I get that, I'm just saying it's reasonable to think they would play in Sprint Center, not that they'd ...

7 of the 30 AHL teams currently play in arenas with a capacity of 15,000 or more. So, Sprint Center is a reasonable location.

I took the Mavericks statement as meaning they would not be the AHL team. Not that there wouldn't be an AHL team, it would just be a different team than the Mavericks.

Re: Missouri Amtrak Service

if you have ever taken amtrak out of chicago to st. louis, you will notice how MANY college kids disembark at bloomington-normal for illinois state. i think half of the university rides amtrak! granted, there's a station right on top of campus. The trade-off would be bypassing Sedalia and Warrensbu...

I go to school at UCM in Warrensburg and campus is full of foreign born Indian students. Don't know why, but there's seemed to be a real boom the last few years.
