Re: Misc Crossroads News

I'm not sure the current status, but there was a proposal for that building: Menlo Inc, the recently founded parent company for k12itc, a fast growing tech company based in the Northland, is looking to move to 2110 Grand. They currently have 45 employees and are planning to grow to 60 within a year....

Re: Martini Corner near 31st/Gilham

Does anyone know what the plans are for that building? (the former mattress place on the south side of 31st and Oak) Glad to see something/anything happening there, but would love to know what it is. Well, there is this: It will be completely redeveloped. Upstairs will be executive offices, downsta...

How is Sama Zama still in business? I like the place but it always seems dead Looks like Sama Zama is proposing to move to 39th and Central in the long-vacant former 7-11. A second floor will be added on the building for offices. This is definitely an improvement for the longtime eyesore, but I sti...

Re: OFFICIAL - Strata (H&R Block's 2nd Tower)

MAC in KC is pretty much built out once Armour corners is completed - unless they expand to a new underdeveloped neighborhood. We aren’t gonna see them compete in any area where you’d expect a tower to go up (Plaza or Downtown). What makes you say this? Is there an actual source behind this, or is ...

Re: "Tower East"

Sounds like The Fix is more of a vegan restaurant than a coffee shop: "A plant-based eatery offering heart-healthy breakfast and lunch during the week, and brunch on weekends. In the evening hours, local epicureans will pop up, offering a mouth-watering variety of inspired, plant-rich dishes." Looks...

Re: STL MLS proposal resurrection

None of those stadiums you mention are in urban, downtown locations besides Montreal, but that is located in a large park. If there is any space in Forrest Park to use for training facilities, that might make more sense.

Re: STL MLS proposal resurrection

It seems a little odd to me that they are putting the practice fields right there. I guess it would be nice for the team, but it seems like a waste of space - something that would be better suited in a more suburban area.

Re: 1650 Broadway

I wouldn't put any stock into that old rendering. Even when it was first made, I think it was more of a rough concept than an actual design. The scale/perspective on it seems totally off, so it strikes me as something that was slapped together hastily. From the description, it sounds like the new pl...

Re: Companies moving downtown

If 12-15 stories for $140M is accurate, then I think the shorter proposal for 13th and Grand could be a likely fit. Copaken Brooks doesn't seem to have renderings of that option on their website any more, but they do have this description: This iconic building would consist of a 10-story, 320,000 sq...

Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.

Nothing that I have heard. There was the issuing of bonds in August and subsequent demolition on the NE corner. The last projected groundbreaking date was spring of 2020, so that still seems like a possibility, but that would mean updated plans/renderings may need to come out fairly soon to start go...

Re: Companies moving downtown

I have a hard time believing Project Decoy could be anyone besides W&R. The overview says the jobs are new to the state of Missouri and to KCMO, but not to the metro/region. That makes me think it is safe to assume they are relocating from the KS side. Are there any other financial services firms th...

What's going on with the old curved front pharmacy at SE corner B'way and Armour? Gutted and facade removed.
I found this rendering on the Clemons website, although I assume it is hypothetical, depending on the tenant:
