Re: On-going downtown development projects

With KC set to approach/hit the longtime goal of 40,000 downtown, what’s next?

50,000 new office jobs was mentioned by downtown council.

I think a residential density of 15-20k sq/mile is a good goal albeit Very long term .

Heard expanding RM might be tied to closing another in downtown so it could be a wash

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

Cool shot, but people in KC will never admit that the city probably has the least amount of traffic (on surface streets) and pedestrians of any mid-large city in the country. That's just from my experience. Downtown KC is a VERY quiet place. It just is. I know it has its busy times when venues are ...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

Every building is active in that shot and they aren't short buildings. Definitely cold and time of day play a part but just taking it on its face a depressing shot. Don't show that to anybody :D A downside of our shift from office to resi is the 4-5 times reduction in density. Getting more office d...

MoDOT is in process of conveying excess ROW to Port KC that directly abuts the KC Current Stadium site. Approximately 1.75 acres was sold to Port KC by MoDOT. Port KC is filing this application in order to incorporate the additional land into the Berkley Riverfront MPD boundary. Checked in on this ...

What the hell is up with that giant open lot across Main from the American Century towers? They tore down the hotel and now it's just vacant. So many large vacant lots in the Plaza area now. I hope the streetcar gets Main Street developed in that area. Rate shift + inflation + hard to get incentive...

Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District

I can imagine it with 4 Light and Strata. The mid-rise on the Calverts parcel will likely be blocked by 3 Light, but the one across the street will definitely show up. The cap will barely show up when all is said and done, and that's a good thing from this angle. 5 Light I'm curious about but wish ...

Re: North Plaza Hotel- 46th and Broadway

The wrappings are off the exterior of the west building and the result is....something that could be on any perimeter freeway in any city in the USA. I would love it if non-traditional colors were allowed in the Plaza. Sheraton pink is worn down but its the right idea. Vibrant buildings surrounding...

Name a spot in the RM that you can build the Ferris Wheel on that wouldn't be better used for a building. Would be a cool area for it maybe a little sleepy though!

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Maybe not. Gameday will be associated with crowds/traffic and trying to find parking. Just like it is now. I don’t know why people think TSC is so convenient. It’s not at all. Granted a parking lot meant to hold cars for 70k and only 15k show up to see a baseball game is going to mean less traffic ...

Washington Square Park would have been a good choice Don't think a private group can operate a commercial facility at a park and directly north parcels will be developed eventually blocking the view. Pennway Point is one of if not the best sites for a ferriswheel that doesn't get obstructed by futu...
