Re: Companies moving downtown

I've asked before but never get an answer. Anybody know if companies.csn post attachments but not have them publicly visible? If so who decided if that is allowed? This is the project description for that permit. CONFIDENTIAL - New office building over structured parking Planning already completed ...

My expectations are very low. Expecting a utilitarian looking building. Anything better would then exceed my expectations. :)
The rents are extremely high. If the building looked bland, then I would expect great materials and a a cool interior. The money has to be going somewhere.

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

Quinton Lucas: A few years ago in Kansas City, we brought back our streetcar system. It’s a short route that runs into downtown. We made all rides free. The area where the streetcar is is a higher-income, majority white, gentrified area. That started the talk of why are we subsidizing free rides to...

Re: Companies moving downtown

Traffic Control Permit was denied on 12/4. It sounds like this was partially due to no planned pedestrian walks. Denied: Based on City Hall Meeting on 12/04/2019, provide updated traffic control drawings and updated closure times which include two-way directional traffic for surrounding streets and...

Re: PortKC launches new inland port development

I imagine it’d be easier to consolidate all river traffic, I didn’t even know the WB port was still in operation, what do they even process over there? it reopened in 2015 Given they have rail connections in their current spot, I would hope this is about growing their capabilities rather than shutt...

Re: Companies moving downtown

It depends when the developers go to council - Copaken did with Strata. In this case, the tenant went to council and is still in the process of selecting a developer. I’d expect that to be what renderings are contingent on. Do I understand this correctly? WR will find a developer who will construct...

[glow][/glow] There are a couple new renderings located on the Compass KC Permit site... Go to to 'Attachment' tab for this permit . There are two files that are worth downloading - the one titled 'Event Lawn UR Submission' and another called 'NE Expansion Drawing.' The event lawn one has rendering...

Wadell and Reed’s selection of 14th and Baltimore is official. WR Rent - $55 sqft per year: $42 sqft + o/m expenses of $13 sqft. iirc, Strata is now hoping to average $32 sqft. This should truly be a trophy property for the region. Scope - 250k sqft of office https://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/...

Re: Companies moving downtown

If you remove the parking garage and then take down that rock outcropping behind it, you would have a level L-shaped site. One could do that without disturbing the old IBM Building. One could have built the old Power & Light Tower on its' footprint on the west side of that parcel and not disturbed ...

Re: Companies moving downtown

I've seen a rendering on this, initial look is that it looks interesting. Some stacking elements to it similar to how Strata is massed. Car entrance looks to be on Baltimore, some rooftop terraces. Also, not much engagement along I-670. Overall I think it looks like a positive addition. Still 15 fl...

Because the district is thriving with that one remaining store? Can it even be called a district with one store. What store are you really worried about on that block. Yardhouse stays but the other spaces are blank! I'm not saying anyone is worried about it. I'm saying I don't see Strata being inte...

don't know, but believe it was recently re-listed for sale at a lower price than i've seen previously (i think $925k). also an HOA fee in the $700/month neighborhood.
I wouldn't want to buy before seeing the 3 and 4 Light Condos.
