Re: Watercrest & Copper Creek Developement, Lenexa KS
I'm sure the neighbors in their brand-new homes on the other side of Woodsonia will again crap their pants about this, even though the same developer is building the homes and the offices and apartments between K-7 and Woodsonia, and the whole area has been zoned accordingly since before a single sh...

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!
Orlando International Airport released a video update about the South Terminal Complex currently under construction. Sharing only because it's an interesting comparison with another airport terminal being built right now, although the two markets are very different, of course. (Aside: Is there any w...

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!
Blows my mind that multi-billion dollar projects are using fiberglass insulation these days.. what a waste. This latest cold snap was perfect karma to that kind of shitty engineering and project scoping. What are projects like this normally using for insulation in a climate like ours? Serious quest...

Oh, no doubt it will. It's probably down to 8:30 or 9 p.m. now. Good thing nothing worth getting in the paper ever happens after that!

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments
I'd love the chance to fly JetBlue. Their new Mint Studio and Mint Suite product for transatlantic flights looks very appealing. Not that I can afford to fly even JetBlue economy to London anytime soon, but it's fun to dream. KC is well positioned to be an A220 focus city for JetBlue or Breeze. Les...

Interesting, but how much of this will actually get built? I know Shawnee already voted down #62, 5700 King Street, and the Belmont Promenade project (#63) shows no signs of getting underway anytime soon.

None of those links work. They will just take everyone who clicks on them to their own Google Drive, if they have one.mgsports wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 6:35 pmhttps://drive.google.com/drive/my-drive Updated Site Plan

Longhorns is approved next month. Vision Metcalf! The planners in Overland Park forgot that all apartments are filled with poor criminals, licking their chops at the chance to break into the nearby 70s-era split-levels and steal the Hummel collections inside. Thankfully, the citizens reminded them.

What's the timeframe on that? I can see from the satellite view that 1R/19L was rebuilt sometime in the last few years.normalthings wrote: ↑Mon Jan 18, 2021 2:21 amRunway 1L is going to be rebuilt. This will become the main runway once the new terminal opens.

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!
Free fare zones are done on other systems. I have 100% confidence that any future shared transit system at the airport could handle this well. Take rail out of the picture, running city busses as a common system could work the same way. Here's one example https://www.rideuta.com/Fares-And-Passes/Fr...

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!
I would also highly encourage the KCI team to use standard gauge rail versus a mono-rail type APM so that this can serve as a trailhead for a longer transit route to the airport in the decades down the road. I don't know if it would make a huge difference to have the system coordinate with any futu...

Is the APM definitely happening? I mean, it'd be awesome, but they aren't cheap. How would it run, like a reverse J from Rental Car Center --> Terminal --> Economy Parking? Maybe put in a station at the Marriott as well?

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!
Do we know how or if the economy lots will be reconfigured or rebranded once the new terminal opens, since we won't need three separate lots for three separate terminals? Will they just leave them as-is and run three different shuttles to the new terminal, one for each lot?

Definitely looking forward to the glass jetways, which will be a major improvement over the claustrophobic corrugated steel tunnels we're used to. Hopefully the airlines will find a way to live without the promo posters that line the walls. I was reading through the bidding docs for the jetway repla...

Re: Do you have or plan to get Google Fiber?
Hi, Sani. That's why i said "apparently." I'm not as well equipped technically as youguys. The best I could do was to spend hours on the Internet, trying to figure out what would work best for me. Someone (don't remember where or who) said Roku and Apple TV didn't play nice with Google Fiber. Sorry...

I can't speak to Roku, but I have an Apple TV, and it works just fine with Google Fiber. What makes you think it wouldn't?
