Re: New Coaster coming to WOF
IIRC World’s of Fun’s original “theme” was loosely based on Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne, hence the vaguely international themed ride names and the hot air balloon branding. Seems like that global premise would be an easy one to lean into, and has lots of precedent to look at Part of ...

Re: Oak Park Mall
AME Golf & Brew is coming to Oak Park Mall this September to the former Microsoft Store space. https://shawneemissionpost.com/2022/07/27/ame-golf-and-brew-150092/ I'll be the first to say, "what?". This seems like an odd location without it having an outside entrance. With them only ha...

Re: Macy's Closing Lee's Summit
BTW, metro north will be next. It was on the same leaked list last year as Independence Center, Lee’s Summit, and the Colorado locations that just made the list. Closing Metro North would be horrible geographically as they’d be left with 2 stores close together in JoCo. Well yeah, from a geographic...

They also were in the middle of construction on a location next door to the LIberty-area Best Buy store and pulled out at the same time as the Overland Park store. Just left the entire facade unfinished and just up and stopped one day.

Re: Oak Park Mall Update
The downfall continues... The Disney Store will be closing "on or before March 23rd". This is part of their plan to close ~20% of their stores. They're also closing at malls far more successful like the St. Louis Galleria, Chandler Fashion Center, and Flatirons Crossing. I understand that...

That and there's a TopGolf "clone" up north now (T-Shotz) with another planned for North Kansas City (Driv). Absolutely no way the metro could support a 3rd or 4th facility like this.

The 2 hotels and the apartments look just about damn near done. Nothing else is really visibly happening.Anthony_Hugo98 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 2:45 am Any updates on this project, haven’t heard any new announcements recently.

My guess is probably nothing yet. There are a handful of vacancies that were in the mall prior to the COVID shutdown, and this just adds to it.Anthony_Hugo98 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 11:05 pmAnyone know what they have to take that space over?

Re: Oak Park Mall Update
The lady at Sarausky who commented on the rumor hinted that Microsoft, Lego, coach, White House Black Market, Abercrombie, Hollister, and lush are looking for a way out. Lush just moved into a new spot that's 3-4x bigger than their previous one fairly recent (2 years ago?). I'd be surprised if they...

It is with a very heavy heart I announce that after 10 years, I have decided to close our Power and Light location. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that makes me allergic to gluten, which is in flour. As a result, I can no longer operate the bakery without continuing to pu...

But still no news on the golf place, the water park, or the Old Chicago that had all announced 2018 openings. Water park?? Calling it a "water park" is a bit of a stretch. http://flowhouse.com/. I met with them in Orlando back in November at the IAAPA trade show and they said they were st...
